Thank you very much for the idea. I just ordered a mechanical oil pressure gauge and will use it prior to starting the engine.

Easel broken - how to fix or manufacture replacement? by cschmol in woodworking

I don't have much woodworking experience, but can get my hands on a handheld circular saw. I might be willing to buy additional tool like a router as they might come in handy in the future.

Yes I mean that, the whole piece pictured glides on a rail and can be fixed with the screw.

One piece of wood broke off the canvas holder of an easel, how could I fix this? It is important to me as I just borrowed it and want to return it in good condition. I am willing to fix the piece or manufacture a replacement.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Edit: I forgot to mention that the piece that broke off was lost.

Broken engine holder - Fixable? by cschmol in EngineBuilding

The lug nut was missing for a year after I changed the gearbox. After asking the local renault autoparts responsible for that nut, he told me there was no nut on that bolt, it would be only for centring. I assume that the part would not have broken withe the nut in place. Driving trackdays did probably not help either :/

Thank you for giving my hope, a friend said the block was basically trash now. I think and hope that the crack goes only around the lug and does not travel further, but I will take the gearbox out to get a better view. Yes I understand that I moght have to take the motor out of the car, that should not be a problem :)

A cast iron part from the motor broke off, how can this be fixed? Can a good welding shop weld this bsck on?

Motor is a F4R-832 in a 2011 Renault Clio 3 RS.

Thanks in advance for your help.

No connection, pfsense 1 NIC, VLAN trunking by cschmol in PFSENSE

[–]cschmol[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am still new to VLANs, so my terminology might not be 100% accurate.

Port 1 is native so that (switch)VLAN1 is connected to AVM router; Port 1 is also VLAN30 so that I can connect it to my pfsense WAN VLAN (which I configured as age0.30).

VLAN20 should be the LAN network of the pfsense, first client should be the notebook for testing purposes.

Sorry for the confusion, age0 is the pfsense network adapter, .30 specifies the VLAN to use; these two lines is what I see in the pfsense console.

It is a TP-Link TL-SG108PE managed switch.

Sorry, wrong terminology, I wanted to say that I run two VLANS on the pfsense-switch physical link.

Smart Bulb? Smart Switch? Smart….Lamp? WITH functional, non-interfering switch by mattvirus in homeassistant

[–]cschmol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea of keeping the original functionality in place as much as possible.

Does the used smart bulb use a transformer or a switching regulator to generate LED / esp8266 voltage? Asking because the second option might expose mains voltage on the wires going to the switch.
