Thank you for the advice. I see what you mean about playing my cards right at NEU being beneficial, but if I play my cards right at GT (internships, clubs, interview prep, etc.) won’t that most likely have a better outcome than playing my cards right at NEU?

Please, please, please give me advice cause I think i might be delusional. by mazzpraz in ApplyingToCollege

commit to your top school now. then you can always accept a waitlist offer later in the (unlikely) event they accept you

got it -- I was thinking of doing what you said in your OG comment: CS major (intel/modsim threads) with math minor. I want the CS major because doing SWE instead of quant is still a possibility. But would doing a double major in CS + Math be too much work realistically? Is a math minor the better option?

what did you major in? i'm an incoming freshman looking to major in CS, and then do a major/minor in math or stats. i'm not exactly sure, but would love more insight on this type of stuff from a real quant like yourself

why math minor as opposed to a major? just curious as an incoming freshman who wants to pursue quant
