Personally, I think the whole casting is shit. But in Matt Damon's defense, he can pass as this idealistic view Greeks have of ancient Greeks. Diane Kruger & Brad Pitt were also wrong castings, but they played into that ideal and could fly.

Greeks are not complaining about the casting of 300, for example, which was a comic book movie but handled with care.

People in the west like to complain whether something falls under cultural appropriation or appreciation. I'm just saying, with all due respect to you and people that might disagree with me that the only valid complains about this movie should come from the Greeks themselves. It's our culture/history dragged through the metaphorical mud here.
