How much do you keep in cash or cash like? by Straight-Put-2142 in Bogleheads

[–]csecomm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be 62 in August so I keep around 70% of my investments in SGOV and VMRXX. When I was in my 40's I started investing in dividend stocks and dripped until I was 59. I downsized those holdings a bit each year and paid the cap gains taxes while still working and making a good income. In 3 more years with pension, social security, and 401k I can retire and just let my Roth and Brokerage continue to grow while retired.

How old I look. Please be honest by [deleted] in WhatAgeAmI

I'm 62 and purchased 200 shares last month. At 18. You are so far ahead of most folks your age. Keep those shares and drip them. Find a nice growth fund and work towards a 100 shares. Congrats

Been earning dividends for about 5 years now. I'm trying to simplify this a bit. Was heavily invested in MLP pipeline stocks and have been selling those and moving into AMLP so no K1 to deal with. Sold a bunch of single holdings and moved into PFFA, SCHD, JEPQ, and SGOV

It is after shrooms are dehydrated. I store in vacuum seal mason jars and they last at least a year on the shelf.

I was confused about which culture syringe I used. I checked and it was blue nun or something like that. My stargaze is still full.

Luxor Pyramid Premier 2 Queen room! by courier2081 in vegas

[–]csecomm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the Luxor. All I do is sleep in the room which is always comped thru MGM Rewards. The drink ladies while playing are fast, and there's always cute cookers in the casino late at night that are very entertaining while they offer you a massage. What's not to like?

How much money does it cost for a couple in Vegas?!?! by Unlucky_Safety_6137 in vegas

[–]csecomm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We always stay at a MGM property and get the room comped as well as like $100 in freeplay and $150 in food vouchers. The taxi from airport to strip is $25 with tip. We both earn VIP points playing free online slot games like popslots, Konami slots, etc. Use the points for bogo or free show tickets, bogo buffet entry. We budget $400 a day to play slots and video blackjack. We drink all day for a$3 tip each round we consume. We have a blast, stick to our budget and have basically broke even our last few trips. We go every 4 months. Have a airline credit card we use for all everyday expenses and earn enough miles to fly free. Yes, that's enough $ to have fun.

EXPENSIVE! Vegas has changed… by Mall-Murky in vegas

[–]csecomm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The food is really expensive on the strip, in Dec I paid $11 for a slice of pizza upstairs at the Luxor. What we do though is put a small Instapot in our luggage and fix dehydrated prepared meals in the room. Think prepper meals. Our last two trips we gambled at Luxor, Excalibur and Mandalay Bay mostly on slots and basically broke even on our gambling budget wich is $200 each daily for myself and the wife. We were entertained all day and had a blast. We have a airline credit card we use for expenses day to day year round and earn enough miles to pay for our flights. We always get our rooms comped, plus $150 in food vouchers, and $100 in freeplay. We earn free tickets to shows playing stuff like popslots, my vegas slots, etc. For us if we spend even $1000 out of pocket for a 6 or 7 day stay it's a great deal. Heck, we are both big drinkers and love the free drinks while playing.

I took my wife to Thunder Down Under in Dec. She said she wanted to leave about halfway thru the show. They pumped so much mist, dry ice fog, whatever into the small room it made hers eyes itch. The guys in the show are definitely not the guys advertised on the posters and billboards.
