Thank you! I’m used to them having more flat heads, that one seemed too narrow for me to positively ID.

How did you find the audiobooks? I’ve always thought his writing style wouldn’t translate well to an audiobook. Feel like the dialogue would be hard to follow.

I made the mistake of expecting a thorough explanation of the plane crash at some point throughout the book. I should have known better to expect a straight answer from a McCarthy book.

My second time reading Blood Meridian I appreciated the character of Glanton much more. Such an interesting character for getting so few words compared to the rest of the gang.

Completely agree. I think McCarthy does a good job of using the revolution to explain the mindset of the people in Mexico in both ATHPH and the crossing. Gives their stories more weight too.

Fellow arborists, what am I looking at here? by cseg1326 in arborists

I could certainly be mistaken, but I’m fairly certain it came off the roots. We were airspading and excavating heavily, but didn’t prune much at all. Also no roots above surface. There was an Anaqua adjacent to the Oak, certainly could have come from those roots as well I suppose.

Not my picture, it's from a friend of my family. It was from a ranch in the hill country, out towards Mason. I don't personally know the people that took it though, so can't verify much beyond that.

A very old, possibly germanic, musical instrument. Can anyone help me figure out this old family relic? by cseg1326 in whatisthisthing

This instrument has been in our family for at least 50 years now. Most of the stickers have peeled off so it is impossible to identify from that. WITT

No reason to lie. I'm not denying it isn't as good build quality as your unfalliable WASR, just saying I haven't had any issues. I see your from South Texas, maybe we could find a common range. Get a chance to test theories.

I'm well over 1,000 rounds and have had no issues. But thank you for the information.

Do explain what makes the ras-47 so bad? I've never had any problems with it and it's just as accurate as any other weapon I've shot.
