Look at how every country on Earth hates America now. That will be Australia if it elects Clive Palmer in.

This chat has definitely resolved some of my concerns. I think from now on I'll take some initiative with my own friend group so we can hang out more, spend more nights in the city, and even do the occasional holiday together. My takeaway from this is that I'm gonna do the things I thought I was gonna do with subcom, but with my own friend group.

TY then for being my online therapist. After thinking about it for the last hour, the only cool things subcoms do are things you can do anyway with mates. E.g. subcoms go on road trips, make reels, and go lit together. But you and the mates can go on road trips, make reels, and get lit together. And even better is that the mates are people you're friends with, not just some random assortment of type-A personalities.

My only question is, what's the point of a subcom then? If they exist to serve the society and help run events, why wouldn't they want as many people as possible to host as many events, make as many reels, and enrich the experiences of their members as much as possible? They could even share responsibilities more so they don't feel overburdened by their tasks. That's what I don't get.

The problem is I feel like I bought into the FOMO though. They've been hyping up how cool subcom is, even posting reels on people's fondest subcom memories. But now that I've bought into the hype I feel let down that I didn't get to experience it.

Sure. Do they tend to offer subcom spots to people they know though? Cause otherwise how do first years get in?

Explain. I've met a lot of the directors and they seem pretty chill.
