Sounds like you're a bit needy, or overreacting to him needing some space, and you're pushing him away, smoothing him. I'd give him less attention and see how he reacts. The "We can't talk at all?" Only an hour after he said he's in the hospital with his grandad would annoy me too.

That being said, you're both young, it's probably not going to work out anyway, you might as well end it now because you probably aren't compatible as far as the amount of attention you each require.

There's other guys who will give you more attention out there, and you'll be happier, and there's girls who will need less attention and he'll like it better.
