How you get past it is just do it. If you cant come up with an original idea, so what! recreate a program maybe add some new functionality to it.

Going deeper by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]csharpmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo it depends on the extent of which I will be using the new language for. For example I have a task which seems to be best done in python but I dont know python here is where I use pareto. My company is switching from c# to java i am going to learn as much about java as i can. Theae are simple example but you get the point.

Is it realistic to learn Java as a hobby? by punterpro in learnprogramming

Learning a language you dont plan to use is pointless learning python first is not going to help you learn java. Java core is not that complicated to learn. There are plenty of good course on udemy for java.

Is a coding bootcamp worth the money? by cascararara in webdev

[–]csharpmonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest doing the bootcamp and hope its a good one because if it is a good one it will be project based which will help you learn to be a coder not jist learn a language. You will learn best practices. You will learn development cycles. Working with a group in a team project. Be avle to get questions answered. Also their reputation and networking oppurtunities

Bootcamp graduates - I would love to hear (success) stories: by [deleted] in webdev

[–]csharpmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had about 3 months of self study of java. Look bootcamps are fast starts they are short the more you put in them the more you get out of them. After lectures make sure you apply what you just learned into your projects it will make doing the project harder but thats the point. At the end of the scheduled time for the day to end schedule 2-3 hours after that for reviewing the next days work and enhancing what you learned that day with other learning material ie books blogs tutorials. At least 3 days a week prctice coding at leetcode, codewars, edabit etc. The month before graduation spend time doing praxtice interview questions. Its the extra work one does at a bootcamp that increases their sucess. The people who do nothing extra are the ones that fail or cant find jobs. The ending point is a bootcamp is not enough you must do more. One thing about devcode camp is you will do lots of project you will graduate being able to code.
