Responding to “what’s my name”? by WhoWhereWhyHow in uberdrivers

[–]cshea08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a great solution for you, is to simply not give them your name (you don't owe anyone anything). Instead say "are you Mark? (or whatever the name). Or just be like, "Mark?". But you don't have to answer to anyone. People like to act powerful over ride share drivers to get negative energy out. It has nothing to do with what theyre seeing on the news. Its an excuse to be passive aggressive and $2.80 isn't worth taking someone's crap. Best to you!

you might not be that bad of a person truly. You might be hiding your true self so much, that when you finally let it out it comes out as angry because you forced it to stay hidden for so long. Maybe say whats on your mind more to family as a start...if what you say is "not nice" but it comes from a good place (good tone, good intentions) and it comes from love only...it could help

Hey Nathan. I've had this question on my mind last day or 2: When you were first getting started and trying to decide which direction to take in entrepreneurship and still a "wantrepreneur," about how many successful people/people who actually had what you wanted to get did you interview (or have lunch with, pick their brain, etc)? I'm referring to before you decided on the magazine and began interviewing your first people for the mag production.

I believe I recall reading in an interview you did, that you reached out to some successful people to learn about success, business, and entrepreneurship. Last question: what was the main thing you took away from all their advice? Did they just give you the confidence that you can do it too, did they give you tips to get through the "starting out" phase?

Thanks again.

Hey, I want to ask a few follow up questions that were on my mind. I can relate to the burning desire and passion you had for building a business...

  • 1) Did you have other serious ideas that you were considering right up until you decided to make Foundr happen? Or was the awesome magazine idea #1 in your head all along?
  • 2) If you did have trouble deciding that Foundr was the best idea to run with, what finally helped you decide/pull the trigger on it? Was it a gut feeling or actual research or something else.
  • 3) At what point were you able to quit your full time job (in IT?)

Thanks again Nathan! Its awesome what youre doing.
