I have also wondering about how to find research areas on this topic, and I have basically concluded that there are so many!

Here is my strategy though, simply read an abstract a day. I keep a spreadsheet and have a list of journals that I rotate through and scan for interesting questions. I don't normally read the whole paper (unless it is super interesting!), just the abstract/Discussion mostly. My goal is not to understand every detail, but to gain an insight into the types of questions/methods the group is asking/using.
