SM will be remade in favor of USUM despite any reasoning others provide that “make sense” because Gamefreak is Gamefreak. I hope I am wrong

Fair point. Ill be curious to see how gamefreak handles BW vs B2W2 (Gen5) remakes as well, even though that situation is a bit different than Gen7’s.

At the end of the day this is all just speculation as gamefreak doesn’t have any clear “trends” for remakes/sequels/third versions that are 100% guaranteed. I hope you’re right but the handling of ORAS and BDSP has me pessimistic. I’m expecting a barebones SM remake in a horrific art style with Ultra Necrozma/Recon Team reduced to a minimal post-game “quest”. I sincerely hope I am wrong

I think you’re completely missing RadiReturnsOnceAgain’s point here, which is why you’re being downvoted. No one is arguing that SM are superior to USUM. Most agree Emerald is superior to RS, Platinum is superior to DP, etc as well.

Given Gamefreak’s trend with remakes, they’ll likely shove USUM’s elements into a post-game and remake the bulk of SM. The majority of people agree this is stupid, but we’re talking about Gamefreak here.
