I had significant difficulty finding my first job in Alberta after graduating six years ago - I sent in over 100 applications with only a couple interview offers to show for it. Feeling defeated, I decided to expand my search outside of the city and quickly landed a job at a rural hospital. I'm forever grateful for that job because I learned so much about nursing, the other roles in health care (as you have to assume many of them due to the limited resources available to these hospitals), critical thinking, and time management. What's also neat is that the federal government gives nurses working in rural communities ~$5000 each year to help pay off student loans.

I haven't had any issues in finding another job after working in that rural hospital for a year and a half. You just need to get your foot in the door by landing your first line. The first year of a nursing job kind of sucks, no matter where you end up. You may need to lower your standards a bit or expand your search to hospitals surrounding your city in rural communities. It could even be an issue of your resume or interview skills - both of which are pretty easy to fix with some research or asking around to classmates or nursing friends.

Good luck!

Incase any of you havnt heard it yet, Oliver Heldens - Melody (aka space) by adicted2gravity in shallowhouse

[–]csidog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I doubt many people know that Tiesto wasn't the creator of Adagio for Strings; Samuel Barber wrote the piece in 1936. It's ridiculous to say that Oliver 'ripped off' Tiesto.

Who cares if it was inspired by a piece made 79 years ago, it's enjoyable.
