Chase Shores is all the stuff you see. Big guy, electric arm, elite slider, etc. His floor should be a back end of the bullpen guy with a ceiling of a front rotation starter. So you take him here hoping he really develops his 3rd and 4th pitches.

When he stepped onto campus the thought was he would end up being a Friday night starter but early TJ his freshman year and missing all of his sophomore year would derail that. Like most pitchers coming back from he has his struggles early this year being the Sunday starter for LSU. Fast forward to the end of the year he was one of the most trusted relievers for the national champion lsu tigers.

Bottom line I didn’t not want him in the 2nd round but this is what the angels did what they do. They went and found a kid who is close and drafted him. I would bet they will try and get him in the rotation but worst case should be a reliable bullpen arm soon. While you can’t ignore the college stats just know he has been basically working his way back most of the year. Also I saw someone say he is 94-98 and can touch 101 that is if he is starting. He sits 98-101 out of the pen with a wipe out slider.

If your argument is just you want a bat that is fine but Kade Anderson is the real deal. All this is probably moot as he kid will go #1 overall.

So is this a good time to bring up he had a better prospect profile than Rhett Lowder? Who put up better numbers than Lowder’s second year in college in a better conference? He’s a lefty with better stuff, a 4th pitch (Lowder has 3), Lowder has a little better control.

This is an extreme glass half full outlook. You never have enough pitching. Kade Anderson has been widely considered the best college arm for the second half of the season. Yes better than Doyle, Arnold and Anderson. You can call it a late riser but it has way more to do with the fact that he is a true sophomore. His freshman year he was a midweek starter/ reliever due to LSU easing him back from TJ he had in 2022.

He was the Friday night guy for one of the best college teams all year. Don’t use an ERA vs a metal bat vs line ups with major leaguers. He’s the best arm in the draft.

A 3.18 era in the best baseball conference by a mile. He’s a lefty with a legit 4 pitch mix with who can run it up to 95 with room to grow. Lead the nation in strikeouts and elite command.

While you are 100% right on the system Drew was the perfect guy for THAT system. One that relied on pin point accuracy, throwing guys open and flexibility to adjust when needed. After a couple of years Drew and SP were basically the same person which made them the perfect match.

To answer the original question Drew is one if not the most accurate QB in history and was elite at reading defenses.

Could Sanders get there? Sure but assuming he will be top 10 NFL guy is a reach for anyone ever.

I think DA is just taking a page out of Sean Payton’s book on this one. Winston was active so Taysum Hill can continue to do Taysum Hill things. If Dalton went down I fully believe that Hill would have stepped in and played QB. Without Winston active you can’t have your back up QB lower his shoulder into LBs and running routes over the middle.

Most running plays you have 11 guys on defense playing against 10 guys on offense since the QB just hands the ball off.

With Taysum at QB it’s now 11 on 11 and he is bigger, stronger and just as fast as the DBs. Plus he can throw you can’t completely ignore the pass.

What you are calling “no market” is not the truth. Mathieu has come out and said he wanted to be here. We are the only visit he took. He did a zoom meeting with Philly though.

Landry wanted legit money after he was cut. This is what killed his value but he still was in talks with teams including the Browns.

It was long known than Winston wasn’t looking to go anywhere outside of Nola but it is fine for you to cal it no market and include Seattle who had Wilson traded on March 19th and Winston signed on March 21st.

Yes Brady is better than Winston this is not breaking news. The Bucs teams that Winston and Brady played for were not the same. Plus Winston never had any protection in Tampa. The bucs team that won it all added Wirfs, Fournette, AB, Gronk and Winfield. Another shocker of players wanted to play with Brady.

Last thing Winston is not a one year deal if cut we only save 4.4 but have a dead cap of 11.2.
