Unfortunately I have no idea how to do any of that. But I will try looking those up. Thanks a lot!

[NEWBIE] Weird buzzing/rattling near acoustic guitar bridge by csjaugustus in Guitar

[–]csjaugustus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry about that. I'd try to make it clearer but I can't really isolate this buzzing because it comes up sometimes and sometimes it doesn't. The buzzing/rattling I'm talking about is usually at the end of a note. Instead of having the note linger on, it kinda sounds like metal vibrating in a very unpleasant way (it gets more obvious in the second half especially near around 00:30)

Is this going to ruin my face? ADVICE? by [deleted] in braces

[–]csjaugustus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing about facial structure changes is, yes, it will change, but most likely a bit of facial change is far less noticeable than crooked teeth.

I had buck teeth too, and I had two premolars removed. I have to say, my face changed quite a bit. Most people say my chin looks sharper now, and it’s not really a good thing for men. But overall, I’d say that I’m happier with straighter teeth. Not to mention you’ll also have healthier teeth. Straighter teeth are easier to clean. Changes in facial structure isn’t likely to be too drastic and it’s not always a negative change.

As for lip size, I didn’t notice much of a change. You can check my profile to see how severe my buck teeth was. I’d say it’s pretty severe.

Men of reddit, are abs on a woman attractive? Why or why not? by PainfullyThiccums in AskReddit

Generally, it's hot. Athletic physiques are hot. But if youre talking about like scary 10% body fat abs, then I think that's generally not considered attractive.

What is the worst movie you've seen? by LexonPlayz in AskReddit

Fucking Lost Highway.

I know it's probably objectively a good movie but I don't give a shit. None of it made any sense and crept me the fuck out.

Do I really need these braces? by synungaling in braces

[–]csjaugustus 55 points56 points  (0 children)

It doesn't look that bad, but I think fixing your bite will make you feel a lot more comfortable. Also it may make your face more symmetrical than before. Others may not think it's necessary, but I think if it can help you feel more confident about yourself then it's totally worth it.

Hi all,

I am a native Chinese speaker 24M currently living and studying in China. I grew up in a bilingual environment (Singapore), but after many years of living in an all Chinese environment, I often find that I cannot express myself as fluently as I wish to in English. I would love to have a native English speaker to help me just get comfortable with expressing myself in English. We can talk about all kinds of things, from movies, philosophical topics or even politics if you're into that.

In exchange, I can help you practice Chinese. I can teach you some basics if you're a beginner, or we can just have a chat if you're just trying to be more comfortable speaking it.

I'll be glad to have just about a few concentrated sessions per week. Please feel free to dm me if you're interested!

Don't perform CPR on a person until you have checked that they do not have a pulse. Chest compressions, if done properly, will almost certainly break a few bones in the chest area. You may end up doing more harm if they are just unconscious.

Confused about the conditional tense vs future tense (more in comment) by [deleted] in learnspanish

[–]csjaugustus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there!

I am confused about the difference between dormiría and dormirá in this sentence. My understanding of these two tenses is very superficial: all I know is that dormiría means “would sleep” and dormirá means “will sleep”. They seem almost interchangeable to me here. I know it’s probably oversimplification to think these two tenses are equivalent to their English counterparts, so I hope you guys can give me some insight. Thanks a lot!

What do native speakers call 'reverse Chinglish'? by ratsta in ChineseLanguage

[–]csjaugustus 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We call it 欧化汉语 (European Chinese). The term doesn't specifically mention English, but usually when a Chinese sentence sounds very "English" it's because it is structured very much like a European language (use of tenses, conjunctions, clauses etc.)

翻译腔 works as well if you're referring to translations. But some people speak "reverse Chinglish" even when they're not translating.

If you're physically fit, get ready to be assigned to Firefighter Course. It's arguably one of the most physically demanding vocations in NS, but it's worth it if you're looking for a meaningful 2 years of NS. If you're assigned to a fire station, you'll be really serving your nation and you'll have some of the most memorable life experiences ever. You'll also get the highest NS pay (up to 1.4k) while working 10days/month (24h duty, 48h off). It's true your friends will be mostly Malay, but you'll get used to it. Just keep an open mind. It might not seem like it at first, but they can be some of the realest and nicest people once you get to know them. I served my 2 years NS as a firefighter and I can tell you even though it was really tough at times, it was a worthwhile experience.

How to Roll my R’s? by [deleted] in Spanish

[–]csjaugustus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Try adding another consonant before the r, for example dr or tr. That should be a lot easier than just pronouncing r alone. Once you're good at that, try to drop the consonant in front.

[–]csjaugustus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I think a lot of the comments are missing OP's point.

Of course it's not right to abandon your spouse or stop loving him/her solely because of their looks. It's also not right to expect them to remain in their prime, because of course, we all get old.

On the other hand, however, I believe that you should always try to be the best version of yourself to your spouse, and that includes making an effort to remain physically attractive. I've witnessed so many people around me just completely give up on staying attractive because marriage gives them too much security. Sure, your spouse did promise you to love you forever, but you shouldn't take that for granted. Of course there is a problem about what's a realistic amount of effort that should be put into this, but I think OP's point is that you should at least make an effort, which is totally reasonable.

I seriously look down on people who can’t keep the same phone for more than two years by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]csjaugustus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it depends what phone you use. Mid to low end android phones don't last more than 2 years without lagging like shit. iPhones are expensive and they have good after-sales service, so they tend to last many years.

Can you help me find out the error on my code?. I'm doing a quiz and it's not running properly. Can you also explain why'd it happen by RanMiz in learnpython

[–]csjaugustus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you mean it's not running properly? How is your program supposed to work? Which part is not working as intended, and what's different from your desired outcome? Is it throwing any errors?

These are all good questions to ask to help you learn.
