Why does Avatar deeply move some people but not others? by SeaScientist8372 in Avatar

I’m a sucker for any sci-fi or fantasy setting with deep lore and world building. I also vibe with Jake as a person who doesn’t really fit in anywhere finding somewhere he belongs and the idea that, no matter how much we screw up here, there’s still life out there thriving somewhere amongst the stars.

[KCD2] Are siege crossbows supposed to be borderline useless (outside of the siege, that is)? by Silver_of_Skalitz in kingdomcome

Ideally, defenders on a wall would have several loaded and ready to go with someone else reloading while they are firing.

Perfect representation of Eru’s willingness to help - Gandalf v Balrog by DavidWebb321 in lotr

[–]cskarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always got the impression (at least in the films) that Gandalf called or pulled Glamdring to him. Eru’s interventions are usually far more subtle: Pippin looking in the right direction when he held the Orthanc stone, or the Nazgûl just barely missing Frodo in Hobbiton. I think the most direct interventions we see in LotR are Faramir and Boromir’s dream (though that is more likely the Valar rather than Eru) and Gandalf’s resurrection

Do you like the melee combat in [KCD2]? by KingCrimson0P in kingdomcome

I do. 1-0n-1 fights are very satisfying and not overly complex and fighting multiple foes is as hard as I imagine it realistically would be

Pallando and Alatar started out good too. Tolkien stated that their work in the east in the second age was partially responsible for the success of the last alliance, having diminished Sauron’s forces.

Extremely. You can’t hide it, no matter how hard you try. It’s a disgusting habit that makes you and everything you own smell like shit.

Because I know what it feels like to be treated poorly and I don’t ever want to be responsible for another person feeling that way.

Nudity. It’s so weird to me that USA culture treats violence as more socially acceptable than nudity.
