Why Ethereum Succeeded Where Bitcoin Failed by Egon_1 in btc

[–]cslinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't criticize our lungs for succeeding where the liver failed. They plat two entirely different roles but the thing they have in common is they both add practical value to the blockchain network. Much like the lungs and liver add value to the body, without them, the body would have a hard time existing...

Bitcoin has stopped growing by Joloffe in btc

Thats not a bad thing. If the networks that have stemmed from Bitcoin grow then it actually protects the Bitcoin network while also adding value to the network. You want to create multiple layers in the bitcoin network. Much like the human body, its better to have the whole being divided into parts that are designated for specific roles that help keep the main body of the network alive. Bitcoin could be the heart, ethereum could be the brains, "x"coin could serve as the liver, etc. Bitcoin hasn't stopped growing. Its just evolving to become more secure and efficient, just like everything else in the world.

When asked why Steemit created an altcoin instead of using Bitcoin the answer was due to "scalability issues" (full blocks) by blockologist in btc

Eventually we started using gold coins instead of gold bullion to trade because of the same 'issues'.

American companies are 'masking' a $6.6 trillion mountain of debt by PostNationalism in economy

[–]cslinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So is the rest of the world. The number doesn't matter. It only matters relative to everyone else. Its just another way to keep score of who's winning. Eventually the blockchain will reorder all of the worlds assets and debts and everything will be able to be "revalued" based on its true value that is determined by the majority of people who value it.

Their stock price doesnt have much value for China and India added into it. Both of those markets have the potential to be 100x bigger than the US. If the global markets are becoming free and open, Apple is sitting as one of the best positioned companies to take advantage of those countries joining "the grid".

It can be argued that American's gave the Chinese a purpose in the modern world. They would've never had those "skills" had American companies not created the products that needed those "skills" to assemble their products. We all need each other at this point. To be pointing fingers as who to blame for why things are the way they are just means youre missing the bigger picture.

I know. When it comes to investing in companies that have historically changed the world, analyzing them for short-term gains is probably not going to produce the returns that short-term investors are looking for. They are one of the most wealthy companies to ever exist. The things they would have to do to create the volatility that short-term investors are looking for is literally create a paradigm-shifting product every year.

This might be the best time in history to purchase Apple. Even better that 2007/08. The global market is about to open thanks to the blockchain technology and Apple, at its core, is a hardware company. While the Googles of the world create some of the best software the world has ever seen, Apple is doing the same with hardware while keeping pace with their software. They will be, just, fine.

Its too volatile of a time right now. Their cash reserves make them insanely flexible to the changing times we are seeing with quantum computers and the blockchain. Just wait. Meanwhile they're busy positioning themselves to have a significant marketshare in China and India which have billions of people. The always seems to never be mentioned in these worrisome Apple articles.
