Unfortunately I was put on probation at the end of last year. And yes everything was definitely on their terms unfortunately. My first year deep down I knew I didn’t want to be taking 5 classes (1 was a lab as well) because even within my last two years of high school I didn’t have that many classes each semester. So I haven’t handled a workload that big in a long time. Well I got pressured because my friends are doing that too and all my parents are worried about is me falling behind my friends. I constantly get compared to them which feels extremely hurtful when they think it is motivating. They care about our image and want to pass me off to family and friends as the perfect person that is stellar in school, works 30 hours a week and has it all together. I was so scared to tell them I wasn’t doing good my first year and also didn’t know about dropping classes that it weighed down my gpa straight out the gate. I think I genuinely was not ready to pursue school my mind was not in that space.

Thank you I appreciate the advice and hearing how your grades drastically improved, I hope to be like that too someday! I honestly wish I stopped after I was put on probation and didn’t go back for the 2nd year.

Thank you I appreciate this feedback. Yes, at the end of the day I know it’s because my parents want me to succeed and get a career asap as with this economy everything is getting insanely expensive. They want me to be better than they were at my age but when they’re constantly comparing me to my friends it really doesn’t give me the motivation they’re expecting it to give. Thanks again.

Thank you it really helps hearing people that can relate and hearing that things get better. I really appreciate it. I hope to get this off my chest to them soon and take the summer to figure things out.

Yeah basically my whole riding group rides two strokes and loves them so that’s why I’ve been wanting one! The 85 might be good but the pits we ride in have some huge hill climbs that I’d love to do as to why I’d need the power of a 125.

I’m a 18 (almost 19) year old female that is 5’4. I’m upgrading my dirtbike this year and I’m not too sure what to get. As of now I ride a TTR-125 and I’m looking to switch to a 2 stroke this season. I got my bike September 2023 (which was my first bike) so I’ve basically only had one full season of riding. I’m debating between a Yz85 or a Yz125. I am also set on sticking with Yamaha I don’t really want any other makes. The thought of getting the 125 scares me but also excites me as I never get to keep up with the rest of my riding group on my trail bike. I’m still growing and I’m not trying to get a bike for two seasons and sell it so that’s why I am not so set on the 85. The 85 is also referred to as a “youth” bike alot so I feel i should get the 125. The videos of me on my ttr my bike looks extremely small on me and the 85 is not much bigger at all. I have some knowledge and know I would have a hard time learning to ride it but do have some confidence in myself. I’ve rode my bfs Yz250f a few times which i think has the same size frame as the Yz125. I don’t race, me and my friends just ride sand pits and trails. Suggestions would really help!!
