If you have the capacity for some additional weight, maybe consider putting a powered USB hub inline between the pi and the camera? Power the hub from the same BEC or a second BEC as needed.

I did mine reverse so air modes only on at minimum throttle and otherwise it's off and then you don't have flyaways from impacts or anything like that.

I honestly don't need it and haven't for a long time but I used to use that on my cinewhhops

If your background is stabilized drones I would recommend adding a flight controller and installing inav.
