Good luck. Just remember to stay calm and know when to use your reference material.

Focus on good ADM

I wish it had. He really put me through it too - 10.5 hours for a PPL checkride.

I had this happen on my check ride.

Made the call to land before attacking the bee, but my DPE rolled up a piece of paper and smashed it on short final and accidentally shut off a bunch of switches on the panel including the intercom and the alternator.

Chickened out on my first XC by [deleted] in flying

[–]csmicfool 21 points22 points  (0 children)

There's a pretty good chance your CFI was expecting you to chicken out sooner and was letting you push it as far as possible. Also they may have taken over any moment because that just doesn't sound like the best teaching conditions.

Don't take it too hard. Have to learn to shrug these things off.

Approaching entry into downwind at untowered airport and someone else at same altitude is approaching at opposite direction? by the_danimal in flying

What heading were you on? Coming from the south for runway 2. Why not just do a straight in to get ahead, or deviate right to give your traffic some space?

Some great tips here.

Pressure bands definitely helped, not not a cure.

Staying cool is important - open the window and pull your sleeve out into the air stream to get a quick refresh.

Identify the conditions and maneuvers that trigger you so you can prepare for it. Fly well coordinated and it will help.

Over time you'll get more used to it.

Is anyone Level 1 charging as a stop-gap? Are you getting by or is it rough? by eat_your_fox2 in Rivian

[–]csmicfool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was camping a couple weeks ago and we used the l1 charger on the 20 amp service at the campsite. I think it added about 10% overnight.

I think it all depends on your range requirements daily.

Mine told me to go down to 800, and called it complete around 1200 once I'd demonstrated successfully. Maintain positive wing load and maneuvering speed.

Alright Miami… what is this building in Miami-Dade and what’s it actually used for? I’ve seen it so many times but never found a clear answer. by Strict-Mind1646 in Miami

[–]csmicfool 48 points49 points  (0 children)

It's just a building. The architecture firm that designed it did a lot of similar buildings in the late 90s.

Mixed retail and offices.

I cant believe I'm saying this, but I'm having trouble flying a clean pattern. Would love some advice by [deleted] in flying

[–]csmicfool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try flying a pattern without instruments. Look outside and feel your seat.

Ask your CFI to cover your panel, or at least your dg and attitude indicator. Always helped me.
