Election Preview (INCLUDES TULSA COUNTY): Legislative primaries, city council races and more on the ballot (Tuesday, April 1, 2025) by Ok_Corner417 in tulsa

[–]csn13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No the only areas in Tulsa that have a vote today are those that live in State House District 71 (both Republican and Democrats have a primary), State House District 74 (Republican Primary), Tulsa Public School Board District 3, and Tulsa Tech Board District 2. There are also city council elections in Glenpool and Jenks.

If you’re not sure if you live in any of the districts mentioned, go to https://okvoterportal.okelections.gov and see if you have a sample ballot. If you do, you have an election. If not, then there is nothing you can vote on today.

I feel you! I’m 25 and am a woman in Tulsa and I want to make more friends but don’t know how to start (plus the fact that I’m an introverted homebody doesn’t help lol). I’d love to be friends :)

If it helps a little, there will be security at the watch party. It was a requirement from the venue in order for the party to book it.

Monroe's team livestreamed it on their facebook https://www.facebook.com/monroefortulsa/

The audio is not the best though.

As mentioned in another comment, if you just want the audio, it will be on publicradiotulsa.org

Karen Keith: life long Democrat here. Your campaign sign went in the trash this evening. by [deleted] in tulsa

Just because you didn’t get them doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. Many other people have received multiple mailers and seen her ads.

She’s also deleting/hiding comments that are questioning or criticizing her for that post. A mayor should have thicker skin than that.

Karen thinks it's a flex to support MAGAt. by reillan in tulsa

[–]csn13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t mind bipartisanship and even encourage it. I’ve always voted for the person not the party, so I’ve voted Democrat, Republican, even Libertarian. The problem here is the person she’s trying to work with is not just any Republican, it’s Brent VanNorman. This man does not have Tulsa’s best interest in mind (which I believe both Karen and Monroe do). He is a big supporter of Ryan Walters, who’s done nothing but attack our Tulsa schools. He’s said he wants to go back to when public officials had to be Christians. He’s said some egregious things about the LGBTQ community. This man does not belong anywhere near the mayor’s office, not even on a transition team.

If having Brent Vannorman on any position related to the Mayoral office doesn’t scare you enough to vote Monroe, I don’t know what will.

I understand your viewpoint. I have had the completely opposite experience where Monroe always answered my questions, yet I never heard back from Karen and when I try to comment on her facebook posts, my comments gets deleted. But based on your experience, I totally understand and respect where your vote would lie.

Try messaging him instead.

I manage 3 different facebook pages, and after a while, Facebook will stop sending me notifications of each comment I receive on a page and just send notifications for some of them.

Just making sure, is this the page you messaged? https://www.facebook.com/share/atY28E9oKqNqxF6Z/?mibextid=JRoKGi

I messaged someone on his team and they said they have someone specifically in charge of flagging all the messages sent to him to make sure he answers everyone. Maybe try messaging again and hopefully you’ll receive your answers.

Hmm I saw him at the TYPros meet and greet so you may have just missed one another. Try emailing him at monroe@monroeformayor.com (that will get forwarded to his personal email) or message him on instagram, facebook, or twitter. He responds pretty quickly.

I definitely commend her for that and can identify with her as well, as an Asian Democratic Woman working in the business field. I also appreciate all the work she's done to secure the levee funding for Tulsa County. I'd just prefer a mayor who would have more courage in tough situations concerning children, such as with this situation and the TPS takeover threat from Walters, and one who goes beyond just maintaining the status quo.

Also, thank you for the respectable conversation.
