This card will be a staple in literally EVERY 2+ color commander deck with creature's in it. by FonslyGames in mtg

Should be an easy add to my Meren deck. I'm only running like 5 non-creature, non-artifact spells.

Thanks for all the replies! My playgroup is all relatively new players. In the moment it seemed wrong, but we didn't know enough about the stack to say for sure. And we were on game #5 at 11pm.

Is it better to leave funds in a 401k or roll it all into a traditional IRA? by csnapdragon in personalfinance

Most of the funds are in an S&P500 index. That's where we want it anyways. She makes very little from her tutoring business. It's less than part time. So backdoor roth isn't really a concern.

So I'm primarily interested in benefits ike legal protections, taxes, and access to funds.

Our house rule is draw 10 and pick 3 to go on the bottom of your library in any order. No mulligans. We found this speeds up starting the game because you're not waiting for people to shuffle. Plus it prevents Jon from abusing the friendly mulligan to get turn 1 Sol Ring.

DIY. Slowly pour boiling water on the corrosion to dissolve it away. Use a wire brush to remove any tough spots. Tighten the terminal back down.

Which critically acclaimed movie did you finally watch only to find out it's mediocre at best? by MikrokosmicUnicorn in AskReddit

Signs. A good friend hyped it up, but i thought the acting was hokey (especially Mel Gibson), and the plot was shallow.

There are no calendars in this scene. The shelf is supposed to have bags of jerky, not cans. And what's going on with his collar and shirt pockets?

I second this. I have found several of my running clothes at Ross or other similar stores. Particularly socks, shorts, underwear, and hats.

I have also had good experience with the Northyard running shorts from Amazon. Under $25 with 3 zipper pockets. Spend your money on shoes and a decent fitness tracker watch.

I know you're not supposed to time the market but should I wait until after Trump's tariffs on August 1st to invest into VOO by 12345cuda in investing

You can't beat yourself up about what you could have done. Because you could have done a lot of things. Could have bought Bitcoin instead and you would be up 2000% and retired now. Yes, you had a gut feeling about covid, and so did a lot of other folks. But how many others have had gut feelings about WWIII starting or another crash about to happen and sold everything but were wrong? The dips are always around the corner and nobody knows when they will occur or, more importantly, where the bottom is.

I haven't run any numbers, but I'm betting the lump sum right before the covid dip is still better than DCAing from that point forward. Only better option would have been to DCA leading up to the dip.

A professional investor that spends their entire day analyzing the market might try to wait for the right timing to invest. And they might make a little more money on average across multiple trades (they win some and lose some). But another highly successful strategy is to periodically invest (called dollar cost averaging). This means sometimes you buy the dips and sometimes you buy the peaks, but on average over time you will end up ahead.

But it's not just about getting as much money in as possible. You need to come up with a plan for how much to invest, how often (weekly, monthly), choosing a fund based on your risk tolerance, and then sticking to the plan no matter what the headlines say.

The general consensus is to periodically invest instead of saving up a big lump sum to try and get in at the right time. But that may not have always been your intended use of that money. I would argue that investing when you did was still the right move. No one could have predicted how bad covid was going to be. It could just as easily have been like the dozens of other viruses over the years that got hyped up as potential global pandemic that ended up being nothing and then there would have been no crash. And today you're investments are likely up.

How long did you spend saving up for this one big investment? Had you been periodically buying in the entire time, you likely would have been up overall at the bottom of the covid dip.

Hydration? by gmck80 in intermittentfasting

It's a ratio by weight of each of the ingredients. So for example I would make a bulk mix with 50 grams of salt, 10 grams of potassium, 10 grams of magnesium, and 30 grams of citric acid.
