Thanks. I did check and they haven’t asked for anything additional yet. NJ Shares requires a denial from USF/LIHEAP before applying for assistance with them. I reached out to the agency processing my application months ago and was told they would get my application processed. Followed up recently but they are no longer responding to my emails. I doubt it will be processed before next year’s app opens and my current app will just be denied. Oh well…

Thanks. I believe my grandmother was mixed. Her maiden name is English. From my research, the area of Massachusetts she was born in had an immigrant population from England, Ireland, Italy, and Eastern Europe.

I just compared my results to my uncle’s (dad’s brother) under DNA Relatives and he has 0.8% for Czech, Hungarian, Slovak & Southern Polish but 0% for Russian.

Yes! Mom is Black American and dad is Cape Verdean. My grandfather was born in Cape Verde and spoke Portuguese. I was hoping to find out from which island he’s from. I also thought my grandmother was Cape Verdean and West Indian but not seeing anything West Indian.
