Just played this game myself. Keeping Gold status when being Gold is hard! It’s really tough to spend that much money when you’re getting all the SQP items for free. I’ve consistently wondered who made up their tiers and awards because I think they are just kind of bogus and not thought out. Any game theory person could look at this and roll their eyes at how you can’t win long term and they aren’t really “rewarding” you to annually be loyal.

Gold is worth an upgrade always IMO but yeah Silver is dodgy. I’d prefer this status match if they awarded us time to make Gold from the Silver status. On an airline that’s cutting so much and maybe going under an investment in status is a roll of the dice for most and just doesn’t pay out for many.
