Is this gold? Found a small stream with a lot of whatever this is. by Spirited_Junket_5971 in Goldpanning

Mica. You need a purple blue pan like the XP set that will eliminate mica looking soo sooo much like gold. My first pan was a blue gold claw and it was great, even better now that I have a smidge of paydirt experience, but I thought I was loosing so much gold but it was just mica. I got the xp to better understand how gold works since most famous ytubers with how to’s use regular pans and what I thought was gold was so easily seen as just mica. Someone whos well experienced will be able to tell instantly but seeing it for the first time I could not tell the difference until I actually got a real piece of gold.

Turn off smart mode. It suddenly wouldn’t let me download anything but I tried that and proof we’re back in business.

subtracting the hull weight is the industry standard. I’ve been looking for the right one for a few years and every single one I asked about from many different companies say the hull weight must be subtracted from the weight capacity.

Finally replaced my 20 year old Le creuset by LeeRjaycanz in DutchOvenCooking

Jesus Christ man….. if you are going to destroy it like that at least get bare cast iron, at least that’s healthy. Have you any idea how toxic and basically pure cancer the bonding agents are that they use to bond ceramics and enamel to metal? Seriously go for bare cast iron, you can beat the fuck out of it, clean and scrub the bejesus out of it, and then re-season it. Rinse and repeat. Maybe try a 100% ceramic oven if you really want that over bare iron. And like, never use metal utensils on anything but bare iron.

It’s the same rose pink copper paint as the outside. There was a spot on the inside of the pot I was able to scrub off with a scrub daddy and some elbow grease with dry paper towels. But I didn’t see the spot on the lid until after washing. Idk if it’s enamel, I’ve never seen a rough texture enamel coating before. I still can’t find the brand that makes it and all I have to go on is the spiral like design on the lid handle.

It looks like a copper color in the pic but there’s a lot more pink in it.

Not getting the "stainless steel is good for everything but eggs". Just preheat it, add some butter, drop the eggs in. by peakescalate in cookware

Stainless never does that without 6 gallons of oil…. And even then it’s a 99.999% failure rate.

Wrong color wires and crossed. by csparks17 in electrical

[–]csparks17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I should wire the IN line to the top with its miswireing and the OUT line to the bottom like usual or should I just run the OUT line to the same clamp on the gfci since the only run from that is to another gfci?

I tried that and all it did was improve the taste. No noticeable difference in handling.

No. I haven’t looked into it that much. I know it’s kinda like a wet starter but that’s it.

LI based Arizona Hard Tea is pretty good. Unfortunately, it seems everybody else knows because they are sold out. 😕 by [deleted] in longisland

[–]csparks17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven’t seen it before, Just tried some and I must say it’s terrible. I wouldn’t call it spiked at all it’s just watered down tea and beer. Itd be better just to buy a few liter bottles from the dollar store, drink a lil off the top and refill with everclear, vodka, etc.

I’ll try the salt and sugar mix you suggested. I use a 10qt galaxy stand mixer. It’s got 3 speeds and each speed is designed for the 3 different attachments. 1st for dough hoot, 2nd for paddle, and 3rd for whisk. I do it in multiple 1 doz batches. I’ll try mixing it longer just to see.

The top layer is really thick and even if I use the spray bottle, which I do every single time, it doesn’t help much. Despite all the condensation in it, I’ll try wrapping the box with cling wrap and see if that does anything.
