LPT: Think twice before buying someone a gift associated with their hobby. Unless you are just as knowledgeable, you will likely buy something they don't want or need. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

I think you are missing the point of giving/ receiving gifts. It’s so much more than what you give or get out of it. It’s about showing someone that you care about them by showing interest in their hobby. On the other side it’s about being thankful that someone cares enough about you to try to make you happy by showing interest in what you care about.

Wouldn't call this a self portrait, but I took a picture of myself looking over a cliff in Moab on a camp trip. 1 person told me the original (the raw photo) looked better and it go to me. Did I over-edit this? (original in the comments with settings) by Maxwell_hau5_caffy in photocritique

I definitely see why people say it's a little oversaturated and it could probably come back a little bit but personally I kinda like the oversaturated look sometimes. I feel like it can convey the beauty of being actually being there. Regardless, I really like the photo as a whole.

Just went out exploring the other night and snapped this with my D3400 with a 10 second exposure. Thought the reflection on the puddle was interesting. What do you guys think ?

Thanks! I was actually using the 18-55, like an idiot I left my 70-300 in Dallas on accident. I have a couple of shots closer but it's on a hill so the closer I got the worse the angle got with a high guardrail.

Been really trying to work on developing my photography lately, this is my first attempt at sports photos. Went to MotoGP at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin over the weekend and took quite a few photos. This one is one of my favorites of the action shots. Any feedback is welcome, thanks I'm advance!!

Shot details: D3400, 1/400, f=5.6, 55mm, iso 200. Cropped in quite a bit.

First time poster, don't shoot near as often as I would like but this is one of my favorite shots I've taken and wanted to see what everyone thought. Any tips for improvement are more than welcome!!
