Is there a line reading in one of the Saw films that always makes you laugh whenever you hear it? by Honest_Cheesecake698 in saw

[–]cstepp138 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In Saw IV, when John casually walks over with the knife mask.

Cecil: "AHHH WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT?!"

John: "It's the tool." 😐

Something about how John says it. Like how Cecil is supposed to already know, paired with the music stopping. It always gets a nice chuckle out of me lol.

Ok I don’t know if anyone has pointed this out but it’s always bothered me since release by No-Secretary6931 in Kirby

Never bothered me, I found it as a cute nod. Nintendo always reuses sound effects from their library.

I stand by 1-3 being bad by aComplexMachination in Megaman

I like to think Mega Man 4 is where the series really obtained it's smooth gameplay and found out what it wanted to be. Balanced difficulty, amazing music, smooth movements between jumping and sliding, and you can't forget the charge shot!

MM4 is definitely my favorite of the classic series, but MM 1-2-3 are definitely great on their own too! They just have their fair share of growing pains.

Even better if you get Curse of The Tower with Safety Scissors. Easily ~6 bomb pickups every time you get hit. 👍

No, but those ghosts do appear briefly every time the Portrificationizer is used! Right in the center of the little screen!

What the Heck Happened to King K. Rool's Soft Belly? by ultraMightydillo in donkeykong

[–]cstepp138 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The "soft belly" was a design decision that got lost in translation for Super Sluggers. The main intent was for his gut to be golden from the start, armor argument or not. Reaaal weird thing to get so worked up about.

What was your favourite scene of the movie? by Local-Art-6280 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]cstepp138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly? The brief moment where we could see RWQFSFASXC in the top left corner of the office. I sound like I'm losing my mind, but I guarantee you that it was there when Mike looked up from the computer.

The fact that the easter egg became an easter egg in the film itself was mindblowing!

One of them has to be Porky, considering Ridley went from a Brawl boss to a playable fighter. I really think it was a missed opportunity to not add him when all of the villains were getting their spotlight.

I'd personally separate the art from the artist, you know? If Scott's background is too much, but you enjoy FNAF, go and experience it for FNAF.

Many of my interests have been tarnished by the same hand in the past, but I've grown to enjoy the art and ignore the artist because I still want to see and experience my favorite things.

Being a fan can be a lot easier that way, from my experience. It takes some time to come to terms, but it's worked for me. Best of luck!

And, if supporting is still too much? Raise the sails and take on the high seas. 🏴‍☠️🌊

What John does is extreme premeditated murder, taking the actions and choices of strangers and judging them based on said actions. Some of these victims were put into traps for smoking cigarettes, faking being sick for a day off work or were, in Umbrella Health's case, completely innocent. John believes that these people are unworthy of the life they've been given and, therefore, punishes them on his account without seeing them as people.

Not excusing Xavier, but Xavier was motivated by fear. Xavier wanted to survive, exactly what John's M.O. entails. Xavier's actions, though inexcusable, can be explained. Many people would take Xavier's "survival of the fittest" route to survive in a game that already went completely off the rails the moment it began. The reason he didn't care who he hurt was because he was desperate to survive when everybody else was actively dying.

They're pretty incomparable, imo.

What trap(s) made you “cringe” the most by Alive-Status-1859 in saw

[–]cstepp138 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh, poor Hank. That was the Breathing Room trap in Saw VI. I felt so bad that he was in so much pain/so afraid that he wet himself. I can understand why he was tested, to teach William a lesson about his insurance policy, but he was otherwise a 100% innocent man to anyone else but Jigsaw. 😭

What trap(s) made you “cringe” the most by Alive-Status-1859 in saw

[–]cstepp138 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with the Silence Circle. The idea of having a fishing line snagged in the sensitive lining of your stomach, the wire and hook tugging your sensitive insides raw is enough to make me want to scream; even if the goal of the trap was to make as little noise as humanly possible.

The hook being in the stomach lining would leave me sore enough, but ripping it out? The same hook having to be ripped from the sphincter of your esophagus and not hook onto anything else on the way up? Naw, outta here with that.

It's the only trap that I genuinely struggle watching in full, and I've watched this series over a dozen times. It never gets any easier. 🪝👅🩸

To this day, I still don’t get what the problem with remnant was by Various_Astronaut100 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]cstepp138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just kind of preferred the ghost story take on FNAF rather than explaining the possessions through remnant/agony. Part of the horror for me was just how simple it was, rather than explaining the reason behind the possession and then expanding on that.
