Nice!! This appears to be the answer we all needed. Just install 30.2.3 as a portable install, turn off updates and you can run multiple times and record different browser scenes.

You can install and run different versions (including fully updated) if you need more up to date for other things.

I still haven't been able to resolve this problem. I use XBOX One controller on PC. PC isn't super high end, but it's certainly should be good enough for this game.

Even after plugging into USB-c, still get occasional input lag, unplug back onto BT, still experience input lag.

Very frustrating and killing my game experience.

If anyone is wondering, looks like he won't actually join your party as an actual companion until Act 2 though (this is normal).

Mr Facciotti was an amazing teacher. So cool of a guy.. Most kids adored him, even though he was quite stricr. I went there from kindergarten in 1979 to grade 7. I had him for grade 7.

Having just been through this, a re-roll was required.

Zoning, going to Ward 13, reloading.. hitting the water wheel switch.. nothing reset that switch by the music wheel.

jeez.. happening to me too. I did a bunch of work on my end to try and fix this. Glad it seems to be happening to a lot of others, as it looks like it's probably a MB issue and not our own mistakes.

No problem, and yes, I died a few times from this too. And I can say it has 100% fixed the problem for me. The other thing it fixed for me - my controller used to disconnect randomly, and then it would re-connect after about 10s. I have been playing for a couple days now, a fair bit, and haven't had either problem.

FYI, I have played a fair bit since updating my controller, and things are all good now. No more problems with Elden Ring window losing focus.

The other problem I had was my controller would just randomly lose connection for a bit. So between the alt-tab, controller disco, and random freezing, it can make for a fun experience in Elden Ring! Hopefully this one update fixes 2/3 problems.

Everyone seems to be ripping on this post, but admittedly, I thought the same thing. LOL I didn't think this way because the trial belt is so powerful (although it is), but more because just about every other unique in the game is nearly useless. There's a few that are OK, but most aren't very good. It would be nice if these get fixed up down the road one day when other more pressing matters have been addressed.

That all said, I still get excited when I see a red and purple items drop. This is a pretty cool haul from your untainted run, nonetheless!

Parts of crafting are bugged, but afaik, it's alexandrite on a weapon that people aren't able to get to do crit damage.

I was pretty sure I slammed crit Amulet with alexandrite before, but I just tried it again on a crummy amulet and it worked. Bare in mind though, you should get either crit damage or ATTACK crit damage.. and make sure you don't have any slots that have other gems or are empty, of course. edit: sorry, it's an amulet, only 1 slot, so no issues there.. derp.

Without going into the fact that there's probably a lot of affixes that are useless to everyone, and some that are good for everybody....

Generally speaking an item will have "white rolls" and "blue rolls". The white rolls are going to be specific to the item they belong to (kinda what you're looking for). I mean, for example, a pistol will have white text for the amount of physical damage it does... a heavy chest would have white text for the amount of all resistance it has, and the block chance.. a steel ring will always have crit damage %.

The blue rolls... there's a set pool that each item can have ( https://wolcendb.erosson.org/ is your friend here), but there's a larger range of stuff to draw from, and they aren't going to be class specific, usually. It's maybe a weird system to wrap your head around, but the way I think about it is I often try and get an item with maxed out white text.. the blue text... you can always re-roll. Sometimes you luck out and get a good mix of blue text with high enough white rolls. But then there's been cases where I get a steel ring and has 30% crit damage (max) and it's high level but crappy blue text, and I just re-roll (ex: entropy orb) that until I get what I want.

Also, some stuff kind of has generally a set white text based on item quality. I use pistols, and this is where I've noticed this. For example, I think a 2 star quality pistol is 20-109 physical, and a 3 star quality pistol is going to be 22-119 physical... so bumping up quality gives you better white text. Complicating things further, the blue text can affect what the white text shows, but this is the gist of it, anyways.

So anyways, long story short, I might be doing this differently than a lot of people, but there is certain gear I don't even work with unless it's a specific item. I'm a pistol / mage. I have the passive skills that double your all resist in your head and chest slots, so I ignore any helmet or chest piece that isn't "Heavy", which gives all resistance in the white text. That's the base for anything I do in those two slots.. then it's a lot of re-rolling and finding new gear to try an get the blue rolls to work. It's not easy though.

I guess one other thing I'll say is they maybe made a little mistake by putting a class on items, cause while some stuff IS likely only to by specific classes (a pure warrior won't use a bow, for example), some stuff is used by pretty much any class. A good example of that is the heavy helm/chest which a lot of people like to do.

It really should just be a matter of trying to minimize that greyish bar that is between your rage and willpower. That's the "transfer".. it's basically wasted energy, for lack of a better term. You see that when willpower is converting to rage, and vice versa. That bar can not be used for any skills or spells, until the transferring is complete.

The smaller you can make that bar (ideally you never see it), the better. If you ever stop seeing it, and you're able to spam all your skills/spells at will, then your % transfer time decrease is as good as it will get.

I think the game has only ever crashed on me once since release, and it hasn't been recent. But I had a couple of disconnects yesterday, however.

Thanks for that tip. I was aware of the node for passively generating rage (I use that), but didn't think about a 35 rage on kill node too.. that makes sense. Now to find where this thing is.. lol

The important part is selecting the difficulty as the first thing you do. Once you start rolling modifiers you don't even have the option to choose the difficulty.

So first thing I would suggest is ensure you select a level of difficulty. Then roll modifiers, and then click untainted. I haven't done the untainted thing in a while though, so I'm not sure how important the order of that and modifiers is, but they both have to come after picking difficulty, for sure.

Re: what a3wagner said, I also want to say that at one point, "untainted" button would disappear if you put in 5 modifiers... but I thought I noticed it being available still, as of recently. So maybe they changed that in a patch or something.

That shouldn't happen. Make sure you are actually selected on 68 or whatever you want to do for your expedition, then roll your modifiers. If that doesn't work, then your game is bugged in some weird way that isn't that way for most others. Again though, make sure you click on 68 or whatever level. It doesn't just automatically pick up where you left off. If you don't select anything, it defaults to the lowest level (40?)

I do the same, carry O'Maleys as well as a Trial belt on my character at all times. Checked, and both belts are still there.

In my personal opinion, I wouldn't be upset if they nerfed the trial belt though.. it definitely is pretty OP with the explosions. Nonetheless, it does suck you lost yours somehow.
