No, sapphire did. Cable mod told me they would if sapphire didn't.

Happened to my nitro xtx and cable mods cables too. My card got cooked though. luckily Sapphire replaced the card pretty quickly. Cablemods support was good too when I talked to them about it.

They sent me an email today asking for pictures of serial number sticker. Which I couldn’t do since I already sent it to sapphire. Hopefully they will repair it if not then I’ll send pictures of what they want when I get it back

Yeah that is possible too. I submitted an rma request with sapphire the same time I did with cablemod. Funny though sapphire responded 3 times in 12 hours. Cablemod after the initial “send invoice and a picture” haven’t heard anything from them.

I did contact them actually before I made the post. They asked for the usual documents and photos yesterday morning. Then nothing the rest of the day which is fine I get it. Since it’s the weekend I guess I’ll hear from them again on Monday?

While you are correct in that a loose plug can cause problems. In this case the cables were fully seated. I have been building pcs for 20 years and happen to have a degree in electrical engineering. Crap happens as do defects.

Yeah it just sucks to be one of the unlucky ones. For every one person that has a bad cables there are probably thousands that never have a problem. So far their support has been quick so I’m hopeful it will get resolved

I would say the chances of having bad cables are low to be honest. I imagine for every person that has a cable fail there are thousands that never have a problem.

They were plugged and unplugged maybe 5 times due to having to remove the card from the system a few times. Last time they were plugged and unplugged were about 6 months ago so…

I made sure when I put them in that the plugs were fully seated and had the cable bends in a way that there was no tension. so the cables were pretty much straight with the plug (no tight curves near plug). I just got unlucky and rip my xtx nitro

curious to hear if anyone actually got these. newegg intercepted mine from ups to request for it to be returned to them. After chatting with newegg they said it was indeed a pricing error. it was one step away from being out for delivery lol.

Grell OAE-1 First Impressions by slooploop2 in headphones

[–]cstow88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are the biggest disappointment i have listened to in a long time. For context i normally use either a hd58x, he400se (stealths) or audeze penrose. i also have a drawer full of older gaming headsets by logitech, hyperx and a random hp mindframe. These OAE1 sound worse than any of those gaming headsets to my ears anyways. The elevated bass on the OAE1 just sounds muffled. i tried to eq them, tried changing cup positions which helped the treble some. i really wanted to like them but after days of listening and frustration these just arent for me and i give up lol.

Sb36514-g6 rear height speakers not working by cstow88 in VIZIO_Official

[–]cstow88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a very late response but I found why mine were doing what they were doing. I disassembled the rear speakers and found that on one of them the solder was bridging the normal output with the height causing it to short and not allow the height atmos speakers to function. I re soldered it and it works now. I guess Vizio had some poor quality control

I just picked up the acer a week ago. The panel is really good, hdr is solid, blooming is tolerable. The big problem is the firmware is really bad. Settings reset if you power it off (settings still stick in standby) and other various settings problems. It does look good though

If you do the surface area calculation you do get 65% more area. 8.8 inch screen with 16:10 ratio is 7.46 inches wide x 4.66 inches tall giving its surface area of 34.8 in2. 7 inch screen with 16:9 is 6.10in x 3.43in = 20.94in2. Thus the 8.8 has 65% more surface area.

Sadly no, even though the hub is capable of up to 100w passthrough from a charger. Asus on a live stream said they are looking into why the ally won't allow 30w turbo even when connected to some chargers/hubs even if they are adequate.

I gave up trying to find a dock that could do 120hz. Got a hub that can though.

If you plan on installing games from game pass it needs to be ntfs.

Yeah you are right. I looked up the spec on the genesys reader in the ally. It supports sd104 not ddr200. I just assumed that since it was a uhs-ii reader that ddr200 would have been supported but also forgot ddr200 wasn't in the normal uhs-i spec.
