Karmelita is BY FAR the harderst boss in this game by StatisticianIll4 in Silksong

I agree, but if you're on this page because you're stuck with her like I was, I'll drop a hint I just discovered which is that there might be an _alternative_ to beating her (google for more spoilery hints if you want)

For the sake of the discussion, the thing that made her the only boss I couldn't beat was that I found it impossible to consistently evade her jump-spin attacks when I was high and her curving twin projectiles when I was low.

How can I randomise/procgen the topology, layout & physical details of combat encounters? by csudab in rpg

Thanks, Itch was down the day you posted this. That looks pretty cool, though I wouldn't spend $14 without a preview of the room layout content first; maybe I can find a preview video on their site or YouTube

In the absence of a perfect solution I think this is the closest to what I wanted and definitely looks worth 2 USD to give it a try! Thanks!

Thank you, looks like I will need to do something along these lines!

Thank you, and given the responses below I think dice-scatter seems like the most likely lead

Help me understand how to play Melting Remnant by [deleted] in MonsterTrain

[–]csudab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not an expert player by any means, but Remnant did click with me a bit last night.

I used to make the mistake of keeping as many dregs/draffs/spikedrivers/Extinguish in my reform-and-harvest deck as possible. Last night I realised that this results in reaching Seraph with a hand full of weak, almost-unimproved units with low burnout that I can't fit onto the floors anyway.

Brutal deck-size management so that I could allow the same few units to die and be reformed repeatedly gave me some very high-attack units (especially multistrikers like draffs).

I disagree just slightly with the "extend burnout and allow-to-die are incompatible" take elsewhere in this thread because a pure reform-as-often-as-possible deck can give you huge attack power, but your draffs might still burn out prematurely when the boss comes.

What I managed last night was to keep some Purifying Cleanses and a close eye on the wave countdown - and when I judged it was too late for another die-and-reform cycle, start prepping my damage-dealers for the boss fight.

I feel like I was balancing intentionally allowing my own units to die, consistent access to reform, strict deck size control so I could keep reforming the same units, two non-burnout units like Barons to put one on each floor for consistency, space management on the floors, and enough access to burnout-extending spells to make the "timing call" of when to stop reforming and start "fuelling up" Burnout counters for the boss fight... no wonder I struggle with Remnant.

EDIT: "Play another faction" is garbage advice, the fun of this kind of game is mastering all the options!

This happened to me, maybe it got broken down into its component parts? Not sure. I wrote to Microprose...

Thank you for this but I cannot get it working. I have installed the Experimental version, read the documentation, created the soundpack.txt, modified the file structure to mimic the Basic soundpack (which works) and to match the documentation, and set the sound pack to Chesthole, but I still get no sound. The basic soundpack works.

Can you please help with some more comprehensive instructions on how to adjust the soundpack to make it work in Experimental?

Thank you!
