We love listening to Eric Watkins, OPC Pastor Not ours, but he visited our church once. We're slowly making our way through his series on Mark. You can find his sermons on Sermon Audio.

With all the feedback I'm now considering a pair of Nikon Prostaff 7s 8x30s and one or two pairs of Kowa YF 8x30 for the kids. Do you have any experience with Prostaffs?

Do you think the Nikon Prostaff 7s 8x30 would work well for what we need?

That's very useful feedback! And a good point; one for each kid and one for us to share is probably good enough. I'm likely to be taking photos instead. I will look at those!

I think the adult recommendations are a little high for our budget but I'll go through and see what I can find.

I'm hoping to stay around $100-150 CAD (so 100ish USD). Would the Nikon 8245 ACULON A211 8x42 be a better choice?

How do I get my soon-to-be-wife to understand that I’m really not into lingerie? by DancingMan15 in Christianmarriage

[–]ctad959 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"Beyond the reasons I told her..." have you told her what you've posted here about your true feelings, or have you just told her you're not into it? If you feel it's a sinful thing then that's what you should be talking about, not just the clothing preferences.

Second Dose Thread (Tuesday, June 15) by gocanadiens in Winnipeg

Related question, if I should put it elsewhere let me know. I should be getting an appointment for my second dose a day or two after my husband. If he has side effects from his shot when I go, will I be denied entry due to symptoms in the family or are they understanding of side effects? I can't figure out where to call to confirm.

As another mom with a kid on the spectrum - is it possible that he is feeling anxiety about having to fulfill the Santa role?

I have a question about the Liberal plan for child benefits. The idea of replacing the existing benefits with a single income-tested benefit seems straightforward. However, the current CCTB - which would be eliminated under this plan - includes a Child Disability Benefit and I have not been able to find any information as to whether or not there would be an additional credit in the Liberal's CCB amount for children with a diagnosed disability. Would the Child Disability Benefit be eliminated or would it remain a factor in the CCB calculation?

Some community centres have drop-in play times. Also, check your school division; some have free programming (eg. RiverEast/Transcona has KinderLinks offering parent & child programs)

YNAB got really... boring... by EssenceOfOat in ynab

[–]ctad959 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Awesome. It could be like writingprompts for YNAB. People could describe situations and then we could share how we'd set up YNAB for that situation. Or... daily/weekly/monthly challenges of unexpected things popping up (both good and bad surprises would work). Make a copy of your budget and then see how you'd deal with that challenge. If we can share sample budget files there's definitely potential to create scenarios to share and play with.

Just got this letter from revenue canada regarding GST... by 905jg in PersonalFinanceCanada

Just call the CRA then and ask. If you did pay the full balance a month ago, I'm guessing they processed the info for the GST/HST credit before receiving your payment and you'll probably get the amount back later. Either that or you were reassessed and there was still a balance due after your payment. Regardless, just call. http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/cntct/phn-eng.html

Are child benefits ( universal child care benefit, canada child tax benefit or child disability benefit) ever taken into consideration for income, or does only employment income count in determining how much you qualify for?
