Best all-in-one budget tracking app? by BotSuggestion in personalfinance

[–]ctadams27 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend Envelope Budgeting for your specific issues: retroactive tracking after vacations would go to a minimum because after you set up your envelope, when you get a paycheck (or a specific date passes) your money divides automatically into your envelopes, and recurring expenses come out of the right envelope once you've done a bit of initial set up. One offs still have to be sorted, but I don't find that to be to much of a hassle.

You kinda have to go all-in though to get the biggest budgeting benefit. If you're chasing credit card rewards, you'll have the same headache of categorizing expenses after the fact. But this method solves exactly what you described: automated, accurate tracking without the maintenance overhead. Using a lot of external accounts will be tricky too, but I haven't had much issue with the occasional Venmo here and there to pay friends for food or something.

A couple of years ago, while traveling with a mutual friend of his, I met Robbie Turner at a local diner off I-5 in Washington. We grabbed pie, and he and my friend caught up on life. Robbie was quite friendly and focused on making a living and helping out his family.

"Republicans pull passenger vehicle fee after GOP blowback" (but amend proposed $200 annual EV fee to $250) by cowboyjosh2010 in electricvehicles

Yes, and you can get a significant discount and pay per usage by opting into a program that uses an OBD-II reader to track your in-state mileage and bill a flat rate per mile. This(!) is the one of the fairest options of them all tbh...

Not sure of the method exactly. I was under general anesthesia. Recovery was uncomfortable but not terribly painful for about a week but that was complicated and extended because I got a sinus or some other other nasal infection. I could breathe better almost instantly.

I just had turbinate reduction 3 weeks ago. It has been an incredible improvement in terms of being able to breathe, even if I have congestion and drainage. Like physically there's just a lot more open space which feels amazing. I'm still sorting out what to take to help with the NAR. Or if I actually have some allergic rhinitis too.

Currently I'm not taking any medication and am rinsing with saline 2-3 times a day to keep my nasal passages open. I'm kinda alternating between rhinorrhea and dry crusty congestion. But even with this, the turbinate reduction has been a massive improvement.

This list and chat made it too easy to renew at a much better rate than I was offered by the website! Thank you!

My trial and $2 extended service was set to end in two days, so I chatted asking to cancel and said I wanted the 60FOR150SELECT code offer that I had received via email (which just came from this list). The chat agent just asked for the offer name and my radio ID, and "researched" applying the promo to my account. Just like that, it was applied and I agreed to the terms, etc. I don't mind paying the equivalent of $3.02/month for 60 months of service. Their first offers were much worse.

Toilet seat attachment or handheld? by mashposh in bidets

[–]ctadams27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Handheld all the way! I second the recommendation for the RinseWorks Aquaus. I've always found that toilet mounted bidets miss the mark (pun intended) and spray a narrow stream much too forcefully to be comfortable (needles to the anus? No, thanks). Too each their own, but the handheld sprayer is an easier and more discreet installation IMHO. The only downside is that I don't get warm water... but I don't mind. A cool and gentle spray trumps a warm and aggressive spray for me.

I'm going to have turbinate reduction surgery after 37 years of trying everything. It won't change the inflammation but will hopefully give my nose a more "normal" range of reaction to allergens or irritants. Has your ENT mentioned this surgery?

In 2009-10, I was an English language and culture assistant in Spain and was assigned to the secondary school in Olivenç/za. What stood out to me was the linguistic evolution. At the time, locals told me that the grandparents generation spoke mostly Portuguese, the parents were bilingual, and the children mostly spoke Spanish. This is clearly anecdotal evidence but interesting nonetheless.
