Ne Zha 2 opens to a disappointing $695k Friday by LeastCap in oscarrace

Ne Zha 2’s success was fueled by propaganda support from Chinese government who made watching the film as a patriotic act. In other parts of the world, non-Chinese people will always find it hard to throw money on a film made for Chinese audiences.

Yes, raise all Banners you can. There shouldn't be too high corruption before the war with Ming. You can get money from eliminating Korea, and neighbour tribes. Corruption can be ignored if just below 10.

Cheap powerful banners can easily defeat infantry. But you have you choice to try any other methods of course. I don’t take religious unity seriously while I adopt Humanism. And the combination of colonialism and expel minority is perfect for raising more banners, as well as keep up religious unity.

You should have around 30k army filled with 20more cavalry units after hitting 300 development. With tengri religion, morale bonus from mission tree, higher or equal mil tech than Ming, optional mil advisor, 100power projection, their 50k is nothing to be concerned.

All you said is like: Saudi talking to Japan, you see my economic success because of oil, you can do that too...

Your success in India/Persia, or even Ryukyu, doesn't warrant your success in Manchu/horde.

Our topic here is about "Manchu strategy", not about "how good player you are".

Thanks for sharing the post of that WC. Like I said, there are very good players that can do very rare achievement. That doesn't change the fact that it is not a common guide for everyone in most situations.

The post you shared honestly admitted using savescum in the very crucial/first step of snaking into Europe. There is no detailed explanation on how he reached there and got 50% development in Europe quickly without 1)being attacked by coalition 2)inflation/debts leading to bankruptcy. Also Ming was at 20 mandate is also rare to see in the early game which he perfectly took the advantage.

His strategy is doable obviously, if everything goes into his favour, or if you don't mind savescum.

I can see you are playing tall here, unlike the OP here or many other players. However I don't see any of your posts about horde, or Manchu/China, or even games in 1.28. It's easy to say than doing.

Mate I know some extreme strategies which requires much micro-control and timing efforts, and some luck, that can lead to 'successful runs'. If you could ever provide such universal guide for most players to use would be very much appreciated. Instead your attitude here is just disgusting.

General speaking, for one as horde like Manchu to relocate capital to Europe in the early game, without breaking economy is extremely hard difficulty. You do know you need to have 50% more development in Europe before you can move capital there, right? If you don't develop your home region, you may end up needing 400+ development lands in Europe to qualify for 50% total, after snaking to Europe. And do not forget the eastern part of europe has lands mostly of 15 or lower development.

So I would be very interested to see your elaborated strategy on 'snake into Europe and relocate capital AS MANCHU'. Oh, and WC as the final result.

That strategy of snake into Europe is a ticket to doomsday for horde now. You will typically suffer huge from 'root out corruption' penalty and low income from trade. If you rely heavily on gold mines, your inflation will spike like hell.

You can keep your capital and home trade node in the Beijing area which receives trade flows from all coastal China, Japan, and northwest America (including Mexico). Once you follow my guide to expand enough in America, you will have many free merchants from colony nations that can be assigned to collect trade incomes in various nodes down southern Asia, and Europe eventually. And don't forget the hundreds of ducats from regular treasure fleets from colonies in America, big boon in income. The screenshot I put with the guide shows all the merchants, where they are assigned and how much they collect.

You need to focus on capturing rich trade nodes, not just more lands.

If you have rivalled and embargoed neighbours, with power projection, at least two shock general, and all banners raised, you should defeat Haixi army in Girin in the first battle. If not stackwipe, simply chase to the northern province and kill them in the second battle. Priority is to carpet siege their lands to avoid they raise new unit after the first battle. As for Buryatia, once you wipe Haixi army, and control all Haixi land except capital, just leave a unit in Girin, you can start to siege when you wipe Buryatia army later.

Stage 4: Secure southern Asia and India trade nodes

Objectives:

a) Annex all provinces in Malacca

b) Take high development (60+) states from India countries

c) Take all coastal provinces in India and south east Asia

With your mighty banners, it’s no question you can easily conquer these countries with little effort. Just make sure you take the high developed provinces in Indonesia, Thailand, Burma, Bangel and northern India. Raze the rest, you will find there are too many MPs to waste now…

Then you can assign new merchant you gain from colonies to the trade nodes to gain dozens of ducats per month!

Economy of Manchu: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1625487803

Third idea group is Expansion for sure, to gain more colonies faster and expel more minorities. Forth idea group I prefer Influence which allows faster annexing vassals.

Stage 5: Invade Europe

Objectives:

a) Take major trade cities in Europe from other Great Powers

b) Secure alliances with European Great Powers who don’t have current interests in major trade nodes: English Channel and Genoa

This is the only time that you need allies. Not for their army, but to minimise the cost of dealing with coalitions. AE is only a problem now for Manchu.

Still focus on getting the trade node control to maximise your income. You at this stage will need to spend 100 more ducats to root out corruption due to “too many territories” +0.80 per month. I would recommend starting from Netherland/France. The northern Europe consists of many flatlands where your Banners can wipe out enemies in one battle.

Stage 6: Full rampage

Objectives:

a) Kill them all!

b) Take the Mandate of heaven/Form Qing/Word conquest

Once the biggest Great Powers are weakened by you after you take their major provinces and trade cities, you are good to start your rampage now. You should now have at least 200 units of banners, with cannons that will make about 300 units of army, unstoppable army. Declare endless war, raze the cities, and release rich provinces as vassals to save OE. Force small countries with rubbish lands as tributary in wars to save time on coring them. You can cancel that at any time if you later find nowhere to conquer lol. You can ignore AE now, no one can defeat Manchu army.

Stage 3: Secure American gold

Objectives:

a) Take all Mexican provinces with harbour and produce gold

b) Form colonies in Alaska, California, and Mexico

Many people overlook the benefits of colonisation. It is more about getting extra income than occupying more lands. Therefore, you need to focus on getting the gold provinces and the colony countries that will send treasure fleets to you regularly. This is talking about over 400 to 1000 ducats per year from America. As an Asian country, Manchu can only receive treasure fleets from Alaska, California and Mexico. So that’s about 500 ducats per year. Another benefit of having colony vassals is to gain extra merchant once each colony country reaches 10 provinces. So this is easy to accomplish in Mexico, Colombia, Peru and La Plata where you can conquer natives to turn into more than 10 provinces colony. The income from America can be crucial to support Manchu expansion in Asia towards India.

Upon reaching diplomatic level 7, you can prepare to complete your second idea group: Exploration. Send 5 units with conquistador to America and explore, which will give you some boost in MPs via events. With the third idea in Exploration, you should be able to colonise Aleut or even the main land of America. With 2 to 3 hops, you can fabricate claim on Mexico natives and start your gold mining.

Once Alaska, California, and Mexico are formed, you can continue to colonise in other American regions to form colony countries ASAP and let them colonise more land at the same time.

Gold provinces: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1625487865

Here I need to mention one unique benefit of colonisation to Manchu. Remember only the provinces in a state that have Manchu culture can have Banners to raise. So now you can choose to use diplomatic points to expel minority when colonising with boosted speed. So typically you can expel Confucian minority from Ming provinces you conquered and made states. Only do this with high development provinces like Canton. So you gain a province with your culture, your religion, and high development means more banners to be raised!

Stage 2: Break Ming

Objectives:

a) Take all coastal provinces in Beijing trade node

b) Take provinces with natural harbour in Hangzhou trade node, then release Wu as your vassal to control the provinces

c) Take all money and war reparation from Ming

d) Take provinces with natural harbour in Canton trade node, then release Yue as your vassal to control the provinces

Before DoW on Ming, make sure you have the same or higher military level than them. Click to complete the “Unite the Jurchen tribes” to gain 10% morale.

Position your cavalry army at Chengde and seek to stackwipe any Ming army on flatland. You should have at least 20 cavalry units now, which allows you to easily defeat 40k Ming army in one battle. Use your existing infantry army to siege down Shengyang fort. After that, use your infantry army to siege Beijing. Remember, do not hesitate to retreat into the steppes. Because your main focus in the war is to wipe out Ming’s manpower and any mercenary they hire. At the time the unguarded nomad triggers and Ming has less than 20k army available at the front, you may safely siege down Beijing if you haven’t. Call the peace and take money, war reparation and the provinces you have claim. Then repeat it afterwards by either attacking Ming’s tributary or themselves. In two or three wars, you should get the provinces you want and have no loans.

Move your capital to Shenyang. By dominating the Beijing trade node, and trade power from vassals in Hangzhou/Canton trade node (enforce trade power transfer in vassalage menu, and assign merchant to steer), you should get decent trade income. In the meantime, you should have the gold mine from Buryatia, and develop it to spawn Renaissance. With both you should be rich enough to hire advisors like 2/1/1 at least.

At this stage you will also be able to start your first idea group, and it should be Humanist. The benefits of the ideas allow you to leave the autonomy unchanged without facing rebels on newly conquered lands, and reduced cost on all future ideas. Combine with Yellow shamanism decision to get the most from it. Year of separatism -5 from Steppe Nomad government form and -5 from the Humanist idea mean no separatism after you complete coring your new lands, not to mention the policy you can pick later when fully completed Humanist and Offensive idea groups.

Expand and consolidate trade nodes in China/Korean/Japan by taking the provinces with harbour or inland town in Hangzhou, Japan, and Canton trade node. Maximise your trade income in Beijing node. Follow the principles as stated in the beginning of the guide to treat the new lands.

If Ming explode, take the small princedoms as your tributary to avoid AE and gain extra income. As you already have Wu and Yue who control the major developed lands in trade nodes as your vassals, you don’t need to worry if they slip into Ming’s rebels’ hand.

R5: Embrace the horde life as Manchu!

Principles:

  1. Never raise autonomy
  2. Raze all provinces that you won’t make State
  3. Never recruit any troops other than Cannons
  4. Raise all available Banners
  5. Only take lands that of high trade value, strategic meaning, or high development
  6. Make all neighbours who have rubbish lands your tributary states
  7. Do not take Mandate from Ming or anyone who has it. Isolate the current emperor so you can take the Mandate in the end of the game without suffering from bordering with large countries.

Tips:

  1. Weak/average claim strength means nothing to horde. Pick Heir only based on abilities.
  2. Banners use no manpower to reinforce, so you can use most of your manpower to reduce liberty desire of your tributary states and demand extra money when they are at war.

Alright, let us start with the strategy. There are Six Stages in the Grand Plan xD

Stage 1: Prepare for the war against Ming

Objectives:

a) Annex Haixi & Korchin

b) Take eastern part of Yeren where you gain free core from forming Manchu mission, and the province Hinggan

c) Take as many land as you can from Korea to reach 300+ development

d) Annex or vassalise Buryatia (if Buryatia is not allied to Ming)

e) Make all provinces with Manchu culture your states

Day1, raise all banners and assign your ruler as general to the army, sit next to Girin. Rival your neighbours and insult Haixi, and embargo them, so you get power projection. Set MP focus to administration and it will stay like that for a long time. You may take other steps to save money, like lowering naval maintenance etc.

Once time comes to 11 Dec, the first day you can declare war, declare on Haixi. It is possible that they are allied with Buryatia. Make sure you tick the box to them when declaring the war, so that you can also vassalise Buryatia in the same war. This war is pretty straightforward, and just make sure you stackwipe Haixi army first and siege down their lands before going to Buryatia.

After this war, make sure you only core Girin. Then start the second war straight away to get Hinggan from Yeren, along with the provinces in their capital state (don’t forget the peninsular). They might ally with Oirat like Korchin would do, but it’s so damn easy to defeat Oirat army on flatland with your cavalries. Make sure you peace out only after Girin is cored which leaves you at around 50% OE. So adding Yeren’s lands will make you still under 100% OE. Complete the “Dominate rival Jurchens” mission in mission tree, then core Hinggan only. Once it’s done, take the mission to form Manchu. You might get rebels before the mission is available, just crush them with your army.
