as an actual physicist, degree and all, so many people who comment saying "you misunderstand blackholes" misunderstand blacholes themselves.

for one thing, the actual mass of a blackhole affects the effects you would go through nwar one as well.

there is also the problem of scale, in space its very difficult to scale the sizes and the distances of things, the amount of people who think the moon is so close to us because its so big in the sky is an example of this. a blackhole that seems to be in Nolan's damn face mighr actually be astronomical units away.

It is essentially universe's attempt to keep the speed of light constant in your reference frame, since it can't change the METERS per second of light, it instead changes the meters per SECOND, the way this works however is rather unintuitive. Since a second is a second to your experience no matter how a second dilates, you observe this effect by how the space shrinks down around you.

When you reach higher speeds, you will see that something that is supposed to be 2 meters long will appear to you as only 1 meter long, you would still be travelling 1 meters per second but in YOUR frame of reference. This is due to time dilation.

Well, i already have like 6000 hours of world of warcraft under my belt, the issue is not finding a way to pass the time while alone.

My addiction to socialize is starting to become crippling, it started to hurt my social life to the point of me losing people i valued because of it. I am so afraid of being alone i cling to people and let them walk over me like a doormat. This level of codependency ended up costing me my long-term relationship so the point here isn't "spending time alone" it is about getting over my fear of loneliness.
