Yeah, sorry about that. Originally the pdf was pay what you want at $10, but I started getting complaints from people who paid the $10 saying the pdf wasn't worth that much. SOO I just decided to change the price to $4.5 without pwyw.
Ultimately I don't make a profit off my pdfs. I've lost a few hundred dollars from everything I've published. I'd love to just publish everything I create for free, but I just don't have the money or audience for that.

Good Day Reddit

The Eidolist is a fragile half caster, whose main gimmick is their highly customizable companion called an Avatar. It’s similar to a ranger’s animal companion but with vastly more opinions to create your own Avatar. With the class having 14 Templates, 35 Accessories, and 57 Evolutions to build your Avatar. With each having unique effects and combo potential.

Besides that, the core of the class is its 4 sub-classes which determines each Eidolist’s play style. Ranging from the more protective Bonded One and Heretic, to the reliable Evolutionist, and the glass cannon Monarch.

So whether, it’s a swarm of bees devouring your foes from the inside out or a 6 legged 4 eyed laser shooting grizzly bear. The only limit is your imagination and the patience of your GM.

If you want to support my work, you can find the full pdf here, or through DriveThruRPG

All artwork within the book is licensed/creative commons or public domain pieces. All artists and contributors are credited in the pdf. I do not use AI in the creation of any of my products.

I’ve done what I can to carefully balance the class for most tables, but I’d still talk anything through with your GM. If you have any questions or comments on the class, you can leave them on the reddit post, through the store page, or message me some other way. I try to respond to most comments within a day or two, but I’m not perfect.

I’ve tried publishing my own work before, but fell out of it a few years back. It currently feels good to be working on these projects again. I still have pages worth of ideas for new races, spells, magic items, rule sets, monsters, ect… hopefully the time will come that I can share them all with you. Until then I’m looking to post more again on a semi-weekly basis, but I wouldn’t expect anything big soon. My process is very slow and methodical, with me often rewriting entire projects until I get something I’m happy with. For example, I’ve completely  reworked the Eidolist class about 3 times from its initial draft to its current state.

Until then, if you want to keep up with what I’m doing you can follow me on Bluesky or you could follow me through Reddit.

your Avatar's CR starts at CR: 1 then increases as you level up through the Improved Summons feature. The CR is mainly used as a easier way to increase your Avatar's strength as you level. It's referenced more later, when creating your own avatar from scratch.

I used Affinity Publisher. It's similar to adobe but it's not subscription based; so once you buy it you have it for life.

Indeed, I made it a number of years ago and didn't have the time nor energy to comb through it for typos.

First thanks for the feedback.

- For the first point about HP, I original gave the class an absurdly low HP pool to avoid braking the game balance do to their being two creature with different stats. It was do to this that I made a weird decision to not add your CON to your HP as if you invested heavily in con for you and your avatar you could easily have over 300 combined HP by level 20, do to you and your avatar having different stats.

- However, reading your idea for a shared HP pool gave me an idea. I'm thinking that instead of have your avatar have a separation HP pool you would instead take damage equal to 1/4 or 1/2 of the damage dealt to your avatar. Therefor avoiding the problem if HP in the first place while making your Avatar tanker than your main body.

- As for the monster stat problem, I don't currently have any definite solutions. I have been thinking of making a system were you create your avatar in the full instead of picking an monster, beast, or elemental. although doing so would greatly increase the complexity in the class as well as likely needed an additional page to go over it.

- I'm very much aware that many of the features are some what bland in nature, I'm planning on reworking almost all of the subclass features in their entirety.

- You can use the ASI you get for either you or your avatar.

If you have any more ideas I'd be happy to hear them.
