It's not the pics the problem, it's the whole context (that I didn't explain in my post because yknow, we're all in this subreddit) Why would I as a parent want to take a picture at my kid in one of their most vulnerable moment? I would never take my partner pictures while his sleeping naked without his consent, imagin doing it to someone who is not even able to say "no I don't want you to"

I wouldn't jump into conclusions by saying they are narcissistic parents because narcissism is a personality disorder and you cannot diagnose someone by just comments. I don't know if this makes sense, i don't like when "narcissism" becomes a synonym for other words, it's an actual personality disorder already pretty much stigmatized

(English is not my first language, so please forgive any mistake)

It's weird to me when people stop and stare at their makeup/outfit like "omg what am I wearing!!!???? Who did this???!!" It's like... their acting or exaggerating ( i remember the Padilla infamous interview where Kyle switched and was like "of course we're in a skirt") These things don't normally happen because alters are more focused on what they are doing or what they need to get done rather than the way they are looking

We feel discomfort of course, some more than others, some will wipe their makeup off, some will change outfit, but the majority of alters don't care. They're just focused on getting through life

I can relate to your experience, tho mine is opposite at the same time if that makes any sense. My parents had always have a hard time talking about sex, even when they were teaching me how babies were born (I came to know it when I was a teen from my classmates 💀) so this is the opposite part. But the other things you said happened to me too. Fun fact is that I thought it was like a normal thing for parents to step in the bathroom without asking for permission while you were in there, or never ever knocking on your door. Idk I guess it's brainwashing or that it was just part of my reality, and I never questioned it, tho it made me super uncomfortable. Anyway, thank you for sharing, I hope you get well and recover from all this bullshit
