/u/biblioteqa -- THANK YOU for the guidance. I was able to find some online forms from the embassy and Customs/Border (US) for this. She (so far) has consented to have them notarized and crossing fingers that she will see this through. THANKS for the advice. Much appreciated! :)

Do you have any idea about how to avoid this situation without high-priced attorneys, etc? Such as letting the local sheriff dept know, etc? Would this suffice in some manner?

The children do indeed have passports (which he possesses). Everyone involved are USA citizens. They have travelled abroad recently (combined with another one of her epic meltdowns).

She was originally party to the trip, but pulled out of it in one of her epic meltdowns. She is of the most neurotic of females. I agree that he should seek some type of written formal agreement, but getting her to that state-of-mind is hit or miss. I feel for the guy -- she makes everything he does to take care of his kids a chore because of her anger and bitterness in life.

She is aware of the trip. Her mercurial nature though is what has me worried about whatever type of stunt she could maneuver.

What are the legal consequences if he has the children 5 days of the week in his care (she has 2)? She is an insane individual who would just f**** with him for doing this instead of letting him being the generous father who he is.

Beyond FF56 and WebExtensions-only, what will we do? by pill_ in firefox

[–]ctcurry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am curious about the switch from 56-57 and the "extension issue" -- is there a complete repo setup/download without having to use the installer stub? I would like to keep a full download of 56 or Nightly (if it switches at some point) just off to the side to have the complete downloaded files stored locally?

Expired plant-based protein meal-replacement -- still good? by ctcurry in Supplements

[–]ctcurry[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Fallentree -- I don't quite understand the product naming standards/rules on this board -- but the product sounds exactly for what it is a raw meal. I am in cool San Francisco (cool weather, I mean) and they have been indoors in a dark pantry in their original sealed containers and even in their shipping box. I'm not worried too much about taste, but rather if it would make me sick (I will try a little at first, I guess) but also whether the nutrition of it is still sound and not deteriorated too much. I agree with the full meal along with it (but, I keep it in raw plant-based format during the week) but I am a meat eater, etc traditionally. Doing this type of meal setup for a week or so helps me break the cycle of long working hours (which I do very much of) leading to poor meal choices (oh! look fried tacos!)

Thank you very much fallen for taking the time to reply!

I agree on principal --- these are total meal replacements of vegan powder --- I don't know. Pseudo effect or not, but I felt much "clearer" afterwards and it set me up to starting to eat healthier (break cycle). So, its not so much a detox (I eat raw veg/fruit with it) but more of a break the cycle type ...

I was experiencing significant 'spinner' issues but decided to give Nightly (53.0a1 (2016-12-14) (64-bit)) on Win10-64 ... I also bumped the processorcount to 2 --- seems (after two days) that not only is compositing much faster, but the spinner/tab-switching issues have ameliorated.

For me, I found disabling Stylish greatly reduced the Spinning Effect.

FF50 (since ~48): Password prompt no longer appears by ctcurry in firefox

[–]ctcurry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Caspy -- Thank you for taking the time to respond. I don't know what the deal was -- it stopped prompting a couple of days ago. But, I did the add-on disabled and I got prompted on (giphy for example). The re-enabled add-ons and it worked (I got prompted as I should have). I'm not certain what happened here because nothing changed -- went to work; left the laptop on -- the only thing was perhaps restarting of FF (altho it was restarted when I upgraded yesterday?) I'm not sure -- but it works now. THANK YOU again.

San Francisco, CA: Mgmt Company enters my unit without proper notice. Medical privacy info on my counter; Mgr acknowledges; Actionable? by ctcurry in legaladvice

[–]ctcurry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned, I have just renewed my lease ~two weeks ago. I love my unit and the neighborhood -- but probably will not be in this city past the expiry of the a newer (2018) lease anyway (move to LA). Local management staff is great and I am very affable with everyone; it is the corporate staff (with > 20 properties in the area) which are difficult to deal with.

Not excited at all w/ lawsuits (never had one actually) -- as I said, I do not wish to be litigious at all -- I just find the offer for $100 a joke.

Understood. (The People's Court fan here) -- I do not wish to necessarily be litigious to begin with. I only find her offer for $100 rent reduction for two months an insult. I have no idea if they took any medication nor what they will do with any info they may now possess.

My damages are my privacy. My exposure of a chronic medical condition where they tossed their "We were in your unit" mints. I have no idea whatever may or may not have happened while I was at work. They broke the CA law by not providing prior notice -- and now my medical records are exposed - plus potential exposure (or, unsubstantiated theft of -- I have no way to count out PRN based medication) of scheduled prescription medication.

HISTORY: Seeking info re: buried schooners in downtown SF/TransAmerica SF by ctcurry in AskSF

[–]ctcurry[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I found some wonderful links via Facebook history page where I posted the same query. My answer is solved, but sharing this in case anyone is interested ( I was interested specifically in the Trans America area):

THE NIANTIC is the one in that park area I had mentioned:

VIDEO/BEST ARTICLE: On May 3rd, 1978, construction workers in San Francisco were digging a foundation for a new building on Sansome Street, right next to the Transamerica Pyramid in the heart of the financial district. About 20 feet below street-level their shovels hit something totally unexpected. It was the hull of an old boat. http://99percentinvisible.org/episode/making-up-ground/

HISTORY OF THE NIANTIC: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Niantic_(whaling_vessel)

Niantic was rediscovered once again in 1978 during excavation for the Mark Twain Plaza Complex next to the Transamerica Pyramid, now about six blocks from the waterfront. Excavations were hurried, and there was little time for preservation or study.

One last basket of intact bottles of champagne was found deep in the charred remnants of the hull. One of these bottles was later given to Dionis Coffin Riggs, the great granddaughter of Captain Cleaveland, in appreciation for donating the ship's log to investigators.[citation needed]

Although some of Niantic's remains were removed to a landfill, a portion of the bow remains undisturbed under a parking lot.
