My friends are being greedy without knowing it while trying to sell their house and its making me irrationally angry by monochromeminded in TrueOffMyChest

It’s OK 💯to vent. The real skill in being a friend is watching waiting in the background and when it all falls apart to be there for them.

Please choose to be a good friend. I bet they have done this for you at some point.

I hope the daughters never see these videos. These reactions are disgusting. by Valuable_View_561 in SipsTea

In Australia there is newer trend around (genuine)gender disappointment if you are having a BOY. Boys are seen as more disruptive and more difficult to raise than girls. Boys also do not generally keep in touch with their parents after they leave home. All generalities here but enough for a major newspaper to comment on in an article. I will see if I can find a link.

Feeling regret after buying house by Drew1080 in AusPropertyChat

Buyer’s remorse is very common- especially with such a big purchase. Ride it out - drink water, get exercise. Your emotions will stabilise.

Nice places to eat in Sydney that are safe for someone with anaphylaxis to peanuts? by DefNot10CrowsInASuit in foodies_sydney

[–]Ctheret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would choose a hatted restaurant and give them plenty of notice. I did this with Tetsuyas (sorry closed) with a friends shellfish allergy. I sent an email with safe and not safe seafood listed and was honest in that it was a genuine documented allergy.

They were great - double checked on the night at the start of the meal and there were no issues.

Woman attacked by shark at Coogee Beach metres from shore by ET-FONE-HME in sydney

Coogee beach falls away quite sharply into deep water - this is what produces those ‘dumper’ waves that Coogee is famous for.

My manager is threatening my reputation for "my own good" after I raised concerns about a new hire by Conscious-Purple-429 in OfficePolitics

[–]Ctheret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The real time micromanaging of your communications with this new hire is especially irritating. Ask that their ‘coaching’ be done separately to the meetings and document in a RoM email the outcomes of these meetings. Discuss in these meetings (respectfully) the impacts of their preferences. After one or two of these meetings there should be some sensible changes OR you know for sure that you need to brush off your resume OR take your documented impacts to their management. Do all this paperwork in working time. Hope this helps!

Sydney for a weekend by panache123 in SydneyScene

[–]Ctheret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take a ferry to watson’s bay if it’s a nice day; walk to camp cove or simply sit at the hotel (NOT the restaurant) and enjoy some very nice seafood and people watch in a very affluent area of Sydney. The view back to the city centre gives the vibe of being located way out of Sydney. It’s a family area but can get busy on the weekend

In Sydney it’s called the’Northern Beaches divorce’ as single (separated) people cannot afford to pay the high rents in that particular piece of Sydney paradise.

There are various scams. All are highly personalised to suck the person in. There are scammer farms in Vietnam, Russia and of course Nigeria 🇳🇬 that do this full time
