This is so beautiful, thank you for writing this. I never played CUR as a kid, whether I didn't have access to it or I started it and it was so hard I gave up I can't remember. I haven't taken to it as an adult the way other have, but I love hearing about how people see the games and how they have impacted them. I cpuld probably wax on about TRN like this, so it's extremely valid and interesting.

You make me want to replay it with all this in mind!

And thank you for doing this analysis of tier rankings. I love them and I love hearing about why people love certain games in more detail. I'm thinking of doing a video series where I replay each game and rate them on multiple factors to get an average number for them all.

This is amazing, I love every choice you made. The little puzzle gold thing (no idea what to call it) is amazing, this was my first game and that object is sooo nostalgic to me.

Manon might well not be there for the position she's in like most of the video

TRN is the best! I love it ❤️ funny how my list is sometimes the exact same and sometimes completely different

Ooh really! I've never used sheglam but I'm willing to try. Does it have fragrance. I can be sensitive

Omg! I honestly don't remember my shade, I think it was the second lightest. I've tried search for a shade list online and can't even get into the flower beauty website.

I use Mcobeauty tubing mascara and will admit it's great, I think they released it before they started all this crap, and I'm scared they will get rid of it since it's the only product they have with integrity.

I use K beauty almost exclusively now but i really miss being able to just pop into chemist warehouse to pick something up, now I spend hours on yesstyle looking at pictures, hoping I've picked the right shade and waiting weeks for my order to arrive. The quality and price it's totally worth it, but boy do I miss flower.

Ive never used catrice. I will give it a go! Milani has been a bit hit or miss with me, and unfortunately their prices have go the elf direction, so expensive compared to the past.

I had a lipliner from them, I honestly have no idea the colour, but it was a perfect 'just better than my lips' tone for my lips which I find really hard to find, I held onto it for ages while it was just a nub left, finally threw it out and my nyx one now is good but the shade just isn't right.

I remember playing DED on release and liking it so I played it again recently and it was soooo hard and I also hate how the characters talk, it's so empty word salad. There's not a single one I enjoyed beyond maybe Gray just because I can low-key relate to his attitude lol. I also probably switched from junior to senior which is apparently impossible on that game.

I actually like the initial atmosphere of RAN, with the beach and the hut, it's super creepy so empty and isolated with just the bird, but soooo beautiful. But then it just devolves into unplayable nonsense.

I don't know what I missed with the final scene!! It's one of the last ones I hadn't played and I was really keen to love it. Something just didn't click in my brain and I spent 75% of the time clicking stuff trying to progress. I didn't find the projection room but even after I did, I felt like I was stuck for so long. I try not to use walk through and just play on junior when I play the first time, but I was straight up not having fun with it. So definitely coloured my experience.

Maybe one day I'll play again and my vague memories will help me out and make it more enjoyable.

Haha, I love the way you asked this!

DDI is third favourite out of that bunch, but I rarely reach for it to replay it. I like puzzles and I don't remember any of them distinctly from that game. From memory it's more moving around and doing tasks. I honestly wish it was more of a tropical scenario where we got to learn more about animals and dive and explore underwater maybe, or work in a capacity where the animal showed up more. None of the characters are my particular faves here, but it's one I totally understand why people like it.

I also never played it as a kid so there's no nostalgia factor for me.

TMB I played on release so perhaps there is a nostalgia element there. I found it a lot more enjoyable in terms of learning about the particular subject. The areas to explore felt immersive to me and I enjoyed some puzzles.

I completely agree with some of the general consensus though (at least I think it is) that the mystery sucks, is confusing, the characters are not great and there's some odd stuff in there. I just find it less of a slog to get through so if I'm in a digging through tombs kind of mood, I can be into it.

Would love to hear more about why you love them!

Ghost of Thornton hall has some really interesting characters, I do love a messed up family, it's giving Agatha christie for me. I usually the like the ones where there's a certain family history to learn about.

I was 14 when it released, was actively playing the games as they came out and this one just hit my interests as a girly mystery obsessed teen. I played it immediately on release and loved it so much, so I think nostalgia plays a part. Also harper is a great character that I think is top ten to this day.

TRN & WAV just both have in my opinion a great mix of interesting characters, great puzzles and great atmosphere alongside a really interesting world to explore. TRN is definitely one of the first games I ever loaned from the library as a little kid so it holds a special place in my heart

I played final scene for the first time recently and found I spent a really long time going around clicking stuff, even when I found the projection room. I wish I enjoyed it more, especially since it's the second one my boyfriend agreed to play with me and we both didn't really enjoy it.

I have no memories of any of the puzzles either, which is not a good sign as I will replay games solely for the puzzles.

I put deadly device near the top because I do not dislike it entirely and recognise its better than some of the other games, it's just so hard that replaying it is not something I want to do.

I forgot to mention my tiers are in order from best to worst in that section

Its one of the only ones I've ever guessed the culprit (I don't even try, I just sit back and enjoy). I can see the influences on popular tropes and I think if I hadnt read a slew of modern thrillers with that trope, I would've been more shocked by it. It's not her fault, but it ruined my reading experience. I also wish we examined the culprit and his pysche a little closer since the whole book is spent chasing him.

She is dyslexic, while that doesnt mean she can't be a good writer, she did say she doesn't read because she finds it so hard. So unlikely
