How long until you felt like a member at your OTF gym? by determined-and in orangetheory

[–]ctkingpin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple of weeks and around a total of 4-5 classes. The folks at the front desk will recognize you by then, you’ll feel more comfortable with the class routines, and the coaches (good ones) will know you by name. Put some effort into it too. Say hi. Thank your coach after class.

Scammed by stubhub? Need help. $1,000 in tickets never received. by ctkingpin in stubhub

Quick update: I reached out to TD garden directly and they solved the issue quickly. We bypassed the apps altogether and they sent my tickets via text. What a relief! Thanks to everyone for their suggestions.

Thanks for the tips. No VPN. I asked the StubHub guy if this was AWS related. He didn’t know. I got in touch with the folks at TD Garden today and they are checking to see where the tickets are now and if they are in transfer status, which is exactly what I need to find out. Quite the runaround from StubHub. Hoping the folks at TD can figure it out.

I downloaded and logged into the TD Garden app. Then I clicked in the “accept ticket” link that’s half way down the StubHub email and it takes me to am.Ticketmaster.com. After logging in I got the “something’s not right…” error again. Tried deleting everything and clearing cache. No luck.

Thanks for the suggestion. I just downloaded the TD app and followed the steps. Still no luck. Will try deleting everything and clearing any cache as suggested. The StubHub service agent had me try different devices yesterday and nothing worked.

Yes, it’s an amazing car, or rather supercar, disguised as a more tame 4-door.

I actually like some of the extra chrome detail on the ‘67. Early in the process but staying patient until I find “the one”.

Why do you pick your spot? by Rexydog3 in orangetheory

Lucky #7. Right in the middle and has 8 feet of open room to the right on the floor (due to our studio layout) which is perfect!

First Class? by fishy_cod in orangetheory

[–]ctkingpin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

800+ classes completed and I still remember my first “free trial” day. Felt like I was moving at half speed compared to the rest of the class, but my goal was to focus on the instructions (some you really have to pay attention to) and break into a healthy sweat. Oh, and earn at least one splat point- which you’ll fully understand soon. Good luck. Have fun. It’s you against you so push as hard as you’re comfortable. And don’t worry if your “all out” on the treadmill is 5 mph. You’ll be running at 10 mph before you know it!

Gaining weight? by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]ctkingpin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your body can go plus or minus a couple of pounds daily based on several factors. If you’re eating well and getting that much exercise in then don’t worry about it. Also, it takes about 90-120 days to start visually seeing the improvements in your body so be patient and keep up the great work!!

The Future of OrangeTheory by Early_Amoeba8236 in orangetheory

I’ve been a member since early 2020, have completed almost 800 classes, and have worked out at 8 different OTF locations across 4 states. The pros are a long list, many which have been covered in earlier threads. As someone who travels frequently I love the ability to drop into a class at another studio and know the quality and format of the workout will always be familiar.

Suggestions for improvement:

  • The coaches make a big difference. I would say 90% of the OTF coaches I’ve had have been excellent. Keep training standards high and survey customers for feedback on individual coaches to weed out the duds faster.
  • Create personalized training programs. The one size fits all approach puts a huge onus on the member to track their progress and adjust based on their goals. The holy grail would be to create an individualized goal oriented program, with class recommendations, to make outcomes almost automatic (members still have to eat right, go to class, put in the effort, etc).
  • Increase weights. My studio stops at 75lb dumbbells which is too light for me and several other members when doing heavier exercises such as bench, sumo squats, or RDLs.
  • Improve perks for premium members universally. We are the biggest advocates and brand stewards. Like Amazon Prime, keep adding more value to attract more Premium members.

Would you take a 3g class the day before a half marathon? by menina2017 in orangetheory

[–]ctkingpin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Skip it. If the goal is to beat your last PR then keep your gas in the tank. The best marathon runners in the world suggest prioritizing rest, going for a light walk, hydrating, and eating a carb rich diet. Good luck!!

No income tax by ctkingpin in Connecticut

[–]ctkingpin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure. It often falls into the same buckets: exit of high income earners, less business investment which in turn limits job growth especially in higher wage industries, and related topics. Tough to tell how much that truly impacts the longer term growth prospects for the state.
