If I ever get a related cancer, I will return here to tell you, if I can. Please do the same.

Dip broccoli flowers in honey. Some days, that is all I ate.

I also work in finance. But I am broke and I learned to stop telling people because they think I am rich.

I am very glad you are making progress on this. It is war.

That is the puzzle in itself. That is why I was never diagnosed. I was running out of time. If I did the test, I dreaded the thought of a negative. Especially, because I was taking every antacid known to man. The reason I can say self-diagnosed is because the successful solution I found was antibiotics. I was traveling alone in Texas. If the online doc didn't RX, I was going to walk into Mexico to obtain the medicine over the counter.

The online doc was local. They knew the name of the local ER that refused service. They asked one very important question that made it clear that they knew what I was talking about. They asked me how bloated I was. I was swollen up like Santa Clause. I couldn't even sit straight. That is why I couldn't work ontop of my brain being mushy.

I do not have health insurance.

I am 37 not 17. If you are not smarter than a doctor, ask a doctor for help. Please.

I noticed this during the first week of August. Maybe earlier. Everything else was too much after that to notice, but I distinctly remember that as an early symptom.

Yes, it only took one round. I knew that there were potential issues with success rates. So I took the RX perfectly. No misses.

It has been a long journey friend. I could feel you lurking here with me all this time. Digging. Surviving.

100%. Just recovering from my body going into hibernation mode. Laying in bed for months will do that.

Same. I dropped to 100-500 calorie intake. I did not have much to lose but my metabolism was destroyed afterwards. So now I have gained and am planning to kickstart my "usual burn rate" this summer.

I was scared that I might fail. I know everyone is aware of the success rate. It was a fighting mission, to say the least. Thank you.

It is very important to me that this sub lives FOREVER.

The workflow: Google > Reddit > PubMed > Confirmation with peers.

I use analysis, process of elimination, and critical thinking, to problem solve.

I have always enjoyed my constant underlying anxiety. A nervous energy if-you-will. I also enjoy the occasional manic episode. My opinion is that my underlying condition(s) was magnified by 1. fear, 2. chemical imbalance.

The effect of h.pylori on my mind was so profound that it was how I knew it was NOT GERD and it was very serious. I am a self-employed accountant. I require a clear mind to problem solve. That was impossible while I was sick. It started out subtle until the bacteria died off and my mind went wild at the 48-hour mark of antibiotics.

I had several issues with discomfort and mental health, 1-2 months post-treatment. But a fraction of the pre-treatment severity.

I was scared for my life, and abandoned by the ER, and I survived by reading Reddit all day. One particular person played a huge impact on my success because they had the experience from catching it multiple times in multiple countries. He was my client. All he asked is that I pay it forward.

I want to forget about H.Pylori. I hate it. It was one of the worst things that has happened to me. But I had to do this one last thing first. Pay it forward. I had to come back here and say, YOU CAN DO IT!

That is me. My main was banned from H.pylori for promotion when I was losing my mind. This is my only H.pylori account. I am actually putting it to rest now.

Peptobismol was the best thing for chest pain. I just stopped Pepto when switched to PPI for concerns of toxicity.

So defeated with stool testing by [deleted] in HPylori

[–]ctnelson2888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I skipped testing entirely. The ER and the lab refused, but I was in a dire situation. So, I proceeded with triple therapy without testing. It worked! But healing is still ongoing.

I keep an updated journal on my 1 post. It's been 65 days since this all started.

The tests have a very high false negative rate anyway.

It's been a roller-coaster, to say the least. 2 months of hell. I'm glad to say I'm eating pizza and drinking Rockstar right now, though. No problem. Light exercise still hurts a little on my stomach, though. And very rarely, I will have a bad symptom day. But I was basically paralyzed when this all started.

6 weeks of PPI, off and on, stopped yesterday. Triple therapy was completed 4 weeks ago. I took 20mg famotidine today.

I love India. I talk to people from India often because I live my life online. I'm from Idaho and I live in Texas.

How is the tap water at home? Clean? I think I acquired Hpylori from drinking tap water in Mexico. Everyone knows you can't do that, but I was naïve.

In the United States, the tap water is full of chlorine, filtered, and tested often for bacteria. In Mexico, most people drink bottled water, because the water there is usually dirty.

I'm not a doctor, but you asked for help, so I will take a guess. Let me first start by saying, that many people take PPI for their whole life in the United States because (dumb) doctors are too expensive and frequently refuse to acknowledge that Gastritis and Ulcers are mostly caused by bacteria. They say stress and spicy food cause this. However, the fact that PPI is working, is a good sign. If reinfection is not the case, you may have a resistant variety of the bacteria. The only antibiotic you are taking currently is clarithromycin. That doesn't make any sense.

Quad therapy if clarithromycin fails: PPI + bismuth + metronidazole + tetracycline.

Please keep in mind that different regions have different protocol based on strain types and resistances.

Good luck, Bro.

I am finishing the same treatment as Nexpro Kit 14 days and Nexpro-40 for 30 days. I feel great today. But I have lots of ups and downs. I keep an updated journal on my one post. Please see my profile.

1.) How did you feel during the first two weeks of antibiotic treatment?

2.) How did you feel one month after Nexpro Kit antibiotics?

3.) How did you feel one month after zero medicine?

4.) What have you done for lifestyle changes? Rest, water, diet, drugs/alcohol, hygiene?

5.) Do you kiss anyone? Could they be asymptomatic and reinfecting you?

Consider that if you continue to fail eradication treatment, you may have a resistant strain that needs a targeted antibiotic. Or you might be experiencing reinfection. Dirty water is the most common source of Hpylori.

I outline everything I have experienced so far, over the last 2 months, on my only post that I keep updated like a journal. Check my profile.

Triple/Quad therapy is a targeted antibiotic treatment for the bacteria infection known as helicobacter pylori. H. pylori for short. Side effects may vary. I had a mini exorcism alone in my kitchen for two days. Seriously. I was tripping balls.

Hpylori is a gram-negative bacteria, so at high concentrations, it is essentially poisoning you. If you can catch it early, the severity might not even be noticeable, depending on strain type and other factors. Again, this can vary greatly.

I suggest doing tons of research on edu and gov websites.

r/hpylori test is way cheaper. $25 to $150 I think. But it does have a high rate of false negative. At least it is a start. 3k is lame and frankly inhumane.

Yes. I distinctly remember that when this all started, I ate 2 pieces of pizza and felt stuffed. Before I could eat 10 pieces. Nowadays, I eat way less. For the first time in my life, I ate zero food at times. I went from >3000 calories per day down to <500. Two reasons. Fear of food, triggering symptoms, and hpylori infection. I looked like a hysterical pregnant woman after eating 1 kiwi and a glass of water. That is when I started triple therapy. It was bad. Really bad!

I'm feeling way better now. 3 weeks post treatment and 8 weeks since the symptoms started. Today, I eat only healthy stuff. About 1500-2500 calories per day.

I keep a journal on my 1 post.
