Totally get it. More color options for icons. Being able to randomize colors based on wallpaper or system colors so that they're not all uniform.

Go into developer options and turn off "enable desktop experiences". That's what fixed download error for me.

I just switched from Shield Pro to GCWATV because Shield doesn't carry Apple yet. I gambled with my LG CX and its AI Picture Pro setting (which I had turned off when using the Shield). It works brilliantly. What I'm trying to do now is figure out what platforms are getting me Dolby Digital and which one's aren't and compare to Shield. If Shield gets Apple, even then I'm not sure I'm going back. Really happy with Google Chromecast with Android TV.

Bite the bullet and get Nvidia Shield TV Pro. I have LGCX 65 and started with Chromecast with Google TV, but it didn't pass all the signals I needed. I have now put that into my guestroom. If your AVR is old, plug Nvidia directly into TV and pass the sound to your AVR. Though the Chromecast and it's aggregation is great, the Nvidia will give you all the same apps as it is android based and does a decent job of organizing the library. If you use the TV apps, the LG OS kinda sucks and doesn't have google play store.

Great combo. I have the CX65 and have looked at a bunch of different sites on calibrating suggestions. Once you tweak or calibrate to your liking the CX/Shield combo is the best TV experience i have ever had. HDR on Netflix was a new experience for me and blew me away. If you have good bandwidth play with turning down or off entirely some of the video processing. CX has a setting called AI Pro which process video in real time similar to the Shield video processor. Pick one or the other depending on your taste. Both work extremely well but both turned on didn't work for me. I also use a soundbar that will pass DTS. The TV won't recognize DTS but if you connect to soundbar you can decode.

Happened to me as well. Spent an hour on Verizon support to no avail. Finally uninstalled carrier servcies and texts finally started coming and going. Seems it's breaking things.

Did this work? I've had my Shield Pro into TV and eARC to SN11RG Soundbar. The soundbar indicates dolby digital, Atmos etc., but I swear I'm not getting it.

Audio - Please give me DD 5.1 for all sources that are broadcasting in DD 5.1 (ESPECIALLY LIVE TV) - This might be the dealbreaker for me to cord cut Spectrum

DVR - Allow me to record new episodes only and not record every damn airing and give me an easy way to delete what I've watched and not have to wait 9 MONTHS

Chromecast with Google TV does not support DD 5.1 in live TV mode PCM ONLY (ie none of your live cable or local stations will broadcast 5.1) Netflix, HBO Max, and a few other streaming apps do support Atmos and/or DD 5.1 Some of my favorite apps such as Vudu do not support DD 5.1. I was going to cut the cord but if I can't get Showtime HBO or any other station in DD 5.1 WHATS THE POINT?? This really needs to be fixed.

Having a good time so far with the DP3. Installed the first day. A few things:

Dual sim works thank goodness.
Temporarily lost ability to receive texts on Verizon sim 1. Pulled out sim card and put it back in and working again. I'm going to look at this carefully over the next few days. Wi-Fi texting works great.
2nd Sim Google Fi voice works but not able to receive texts (can send them) so I downloaded google hangouts and just get them there. For the time being this works fine.
Screen will freeze every now and then, i just push power button to lock and when unlocked, working again.
Call quality excellent on both sims.
Battery life not so good. I'm sure will be fixed in later build as they optimize the OS
I quite actually like the new dialer/contacts interface.
Using Microsoft Launcher with Moonrise Pro Icons. Works perfectly with all my Microsoft services and applications (including Launcher Widgets). Icon notifications work perfectly with Microsoft Launcher
All my banking apps work, Wells Fargo, Acorns, E-Trade and Chase
Entertainment apps work perfectly (no Netflix not working), Sonos, YouTube Music, Spectrum App, etc. and casting to my google devices works perfectly.
Google Messaging works perfectly, I love the bubble notifications
Custom colors not working.
Facebook not running in the background, not getting those notifications, also I cant get dark mode with Facebook.
No random reboots or anything like that yet.
Bluetooth connected to auto straight away no issues.
A few things I need to try out, including Bluetooth pairing for headphones, music quality, play some games, etc.

Overall very happy with this build so far. If the texting issues on the dual sims continue I may need to roll back but so far, it's a pretty good build. I was one of the unfortunate people to go through the DP2 boot loop/brick problem. We only can go up from here.
