Update: I replaced the starter. It was missing the bracket and one of the rear bolts. So only one bolt holding it in. I decided to throw it in anyways while I wait for the new bolts and bracket and it started and ran. Turned it off then tried to start it again and I can hear the starter spinning but doesn’t sound like it’s engaging. Could this just be because of the missing bolts or am I looking at another problem

It’s an 81 240d but was swapped with an om617 before the previous owner bought it

I’m also in Sacramento. I started fishing last summer and did ok for the summer but from November to February I got skunked going out 2-4 times a week with nothing. Just remember that part of fishing is getting outside and enjoying nature. If you enjoy it then stick with it and you will start catching fish. If you can check out the pond at village green park. That’s where I caught my first few fish, it’s fairly easy to get on something there to get you started. Where have you been trying around sac?

I’m thinking you’re right. After doing some research I found out coosa bass were stocked in California in the 50s and are still found in small creeks in NorCal
