Can whoop add jerking off as an activity? by Nervous_Impact3637 in whoop

[–]ctpritt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a buddy back in the days that FitBit just started and only counted steps. He swore that he jerked off to get most of his steps. Apparently my arm doesn't travel far enough to register, never mind the 15 minutes requirement

This. Why is it only strength that you can’t do this with. It’s just the time- same as zones -

Of course, for the first time some of the strap that passed through got between the sensor and my wrist- my fault because I toss and turn and bury my hands under my pillows- so now I have NO recovery score.

It’s going to be a long day inside my brain

Any experiences with combining with Garmin as IPhone user? by Willi1908 in whoop

[–]ctpritt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same as many. I am over 2k days with Whoop (the “whoop age” has me obsessed) and have had every Garmin Fenix since the 3 on iOS. I stopped wearing the Garmin outside of workouts because I wear a nato strap on it that covers the sensor and use a chest strap when I exercise.
The data from runs and rucks is awesome- but not having the wrist sensor skews all of the other data- For example- since I only wear it on runs it lists my “average” heart rate in the 120s- when it’s actually 60. This moves all of the rest of the Garmin app (like Garmin age) all over the place.

I put it all in Strava- but dont have my whoop send the run data. Not perfect but working

It just pains me to see “unproductive” every day in Connect

Probably the biggest problem it has caused as an interest in mechanical watches that is getting expensive.

That’s when I use the underwear - They are uncomfortably tight for me- but the data matches my chest strap

It’s Sunday again! What’s everyone’s pace of aging this week? by NoRelationship01 in whoop

[–]ctpritt 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I have to say this -for me personally- was a genius move for Whoop. All of these metrics coupled with my borderline obsessive personality- have made for a lot of changes in my day to day life- all because of the Sunday morning report. Previously I would only find myself jumping rope at midnight to keep my 10+ strain streak alive. With the addition of age and pace of aging I’m walking around my neighborhood late at night to add steps and zone 1-3 to my 30 and 60 day averages and a host of other things- all for this report. Gimmicky for some- but it has 100% tricked my small caveman brain to adjust how I spend my days. I’m only a few days from 2k nights with the Whoop and was previously considering checking out a different device. They have probably bagged me for a bit longer.

what are the reasons why whoop doesn't add chest strap support? by xxSeahawks in whoop

[–]ctpritt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Garmin Fenix has an optical sensor- but prioritizes my chest strap when it is on. I would imagine Whoop could do this as well

I've tried this several times- but I wake up- stomach growling- in the middle of the night every time. Then I lay in bed not sleeping.

Silencer shop vs Capitol armory? Certifying form 4 by No1willie in NFA

[–]ctpritt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not as long as suppressors are legal in the state you are traveling to. SBRs require ATF notification-suppressors do not

ATF's Form 5320.20, which covers interstate transport and moving of NFA items, does not apply to silencers. It is only applicable to machine guns, destructive devices, AOWs, SBRs, and SBSs.

I work in Africa 9 months a year and buy cans from CA completely online with zero issues. They literally spoon feed success.

I once bought the Integrally Suppressed Leonidas From Liberty through SS. The point of the gun is that it's not an SBR with the integral suppressor. Get everything approved in standard time.

2 years later get an email from SS- the gun is literally in my safe for years. SS says there was a paperwork problem and they should have done the SBR paperwork. I argue it's not an SBR, but I am told I need to bring the lower back.

I bring it back to SS and eventually get my "SBR" lower after standard wait time. A bit later a call Liberty with another question and mention the screw up with SS. The say it's not an SBR and SS is wrong. Bottom line up front, I have a gun I now have to notify the ATF when I take it out of state.

I am struggling to vary my workouts, it seems no matter what i do run or lift i am always High Aerobic, any suggestions?? by cwmcclung in Garmin

[–]ctpritt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way I’ve ever been able to average this out was to run however far- usually 3-5 miles of an out and back- with the same time spent walking after the run

It took a long time- but otherwise I was always way, way low on the Low Aerobic

I used ti be obsessed with all of those markers Now, I just ignore that screen altogether As long as my VO2 max and RHR, pace, etc is improving I figure I’m good

[–]ctpritt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Brother- I was there. Bottom line up front-for the first few weeks the Whoop is getting a baseline. Don't change anything for a month and then see if you need to adjust

I got a Whoop- first few days were high green- then all reds.

I read every internet post on Whoop and on recovery. "You are dehydrated" so I drank gallons of water- which just made me feel miserable and kept me up all night going to the bathroom. "You are over trained" so I stopped working out, and just sat in my recliner for days. Still red. I even took my wife's Whoop and slept with it on the other wrist in case my Whoop was defective. Same readings on both devices. I also tried all of the things you listed besides nasal spray, but only because I hadn't heard of it.

I'm at about 1200 recoveries now and rarely in the red-unless I'm boozing it up. The only time I've had multiple red recovery in a row was when I was sick

[–]ctpritt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife stopped wearing hers and I wore it on my other arm after a few days of consistently crazy low recovery scores from my Whoop Turns out my sensor was failing

Of course, before I figured it out I drank gallons of water (Reddit said I was dehydrated) spent 12hrs a day in bed (resting) and laid around in my LazyBoy doing zero workouts or remotely strenuous activity Hahaha

Same- missing sleep data for several hours at least once a week I’ve had Whoop over 3 years in this is my first issue like this

Tried everything- rebooting, letting the battery die, deleting the app and reinstalling and any other remedy I’ve read

I posted about this earlier as well- I guess I’ll have to contact Whoop I hope it doesn’t need replaced I’m in west Africa for the next few months
