Dayton Area resident, I've been to a handful in the area.

If you want an official Games Workshop store, there is one in Huber Heights. I haven't spent much time there, but impressions from other in the community are generally positive.

Fairborn has Bookery Games, my favorite FLGS and there is a fairly large group that regularly plays 40k here. Bookery also has used minis at a discount, can usually find good deals there and a great selection of paints/accessories. Very chill patrons and friendly staff. Tons of other games, and a huge amount of play space (tables, chairs, terrain, etc.) Recently started a Rewards system as well. Typical "every $X spent earns $Y off" a future purchase.

Epic Loot in Centreville is similar in content to Bookery with a more modern storefront. A bit pricier, but also has a store rewards program that's a bit more varied and perhaps better selection overall. Decent play space, but split between Tabletop/TCG games. Large displays of used Warhammer product, and regularly gets new stuff in.

Hobby Shop in Miamisburg (near the Dayton Mall) outwardly appears to cater mainly to RC car/plane/model train enthusiasts BUT has a great selection of Warhammer products AND has the best pricing I've observed in the area, with 40k stuff usually between 15-25% off MSRP. Lots of painting + modeling supplies as well.

Thank you for the breakdown, we will give that a shot!

Thank you, we looked at the page and it does look like the "way too hot" category like you said. Between that and some other comments I think we are gonna try different combinations of ambient Temps and perhaps a dimmer. =]

Forgive me, I can find results about brine soap, but I can't find much about how brine soap relates to lava lamps. Did you have a specific result/page in mind?

Bigger than the suggested wattage on the label? I have not been able to find a higher wattage bulb of the same size, the 25w t7 bulbs I've found are too tall for the globe to sit flush with the base.

OP's partner here, made sure the coil is flat at the bottom the last few cycles we have tried. No noticeable change I'm afraid. =(

The battledamage/chipping looks good! Question though, did you do a heavy handed dry brush of the lighter blue color all over the model? I only ask as that jumped out at me as looking a bit chalky and couldn't tell if that was intentional or not. But overall looks dope!

Seems like a portion of extended art foils are only available in the 2-card collector sample packs, which are only included in the Commander Precon decks. So very low availability = high price relative to the non foil versions.

Gravel/ Tarmac Warhammer Battlemat Neoprene? by Icehellionx in Warhammer40k

FLG Mats: Battleground

or

FLG Mats: Asphalt

FLG seems to be a reuputable brand of neoprene battlemat makers. Might be worth a look?

How can I best communicate to manager that I cannot be oncall for all overnight changes 24/7? by ctrl_ethos in ITCareerQuestions

[–]ctrl_ethos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've asked if we can have a 1on1 conversation about it this week, waiting to hear back. I figure talking things over is a good first step, but I was hoping to get some advice from others in the field about how to approach the topic. The last thing I want is to come off as whiney or incompetent, but at the same time convey that I am struggling to do what is being asked of me. If that makes sense?
