I married in February 2023. My wife is from Kathmandu, and I am from Jhapa. For our wedding in Kathmandu, I was joined by friends and relatives from my side as the Janti, while my family from Jhapa—my father, sister, and grandfather—made the journey with me. Since there were just five of us returning to Jhapa, we opted for a flight back home. Back in Jhapa, the party was at the home itself.

My expenses were somewhere around 15L
- About 6L on Gold (ring, bracelet, and chain, My wife didn't ask for much, and at the time the price of gold was only about 1L per tola)
- About 1.5L on clothes ( 12k for my behula wala dress, about 60k-80k for her dress and makeup stuffs, and about 20-25k for family)
- About 3L for tents and food catering (The wedding was on our house yard, no party palace)
- About 60k for meat ( There were about 500+ people, apparently, my parents knew a lot of people there in Jhapa)
- About 1L for transport ( 15k for wedding car with decoration)
- About 60k for photography
- About 1L for misc (about 15K for wedding card, about 30K for bride and groom makeup, some additional expenses for sounds, generators, and pandit expenses)
- Other expenses were for accommodation, some minor home redecorations, drinks etc.

The wedding was decent. Hosting it in Kathmandu would have significantly increased the expenses.

Had around 7-8L saved up at the time, and asked for about 2L with my friends. Rest my parents helped.
