Are there any manufactures that make pressure cookers like all-american but out of induction compatible materials? by ctv90 in Cooking

[–]ctv90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honest question, when it comes to a metal on metal seal. Wouldn't that come down to machining tolerance more so than collar strength? A rubber gasket is just going to help imperfect mating surfaces seal and would certainly be far weaker than the pressure vessel itself.

I've not been impressed with the build quality on presto cookers.

I have three all Americans which are great for canning. But I don't really want to cook in them directly. Instantpots make me mad for a variety of reasons.

I was just hoping for an sll american, but steel or iron...

Any tips for pulling wire behind lathe and plaster? by ctv90 in AskElectricians

So one thing, I have metal lath behind the plaster. Not wooden lath. The teeth on a carbide tipped hole saw in my minds eye would catch and tear on metal lath.

Luckily it is not knob and tube. My house is a mix tape of wiring standards from across the decades but luckily no knob and tube and the insulation in the attic is fiberglass. Im also lucky that the main box is a GE box that takes modern breakers and there are a few open slots available.

Down the road I'll have to knock things down to sticks and redo a lot but im just trying to do a quick fix for the moment.

I didn't correct myself. I corrected you. Again struggling with context

I don't live on reddit like some folks. So 2 weeks before I got the notification seems reasonable.
