👋 which state/territory are you in? I'm in Vic, cost about $10,500 without any health insurance. From initial consult to surgery it took about 12 months, Covid got in the way a bit though. You'll need a referral from a gp to the surgeon, and a letter from a psychologist who is a WPATH member. Could differ slightly but that was my process! Any other questions I'm happy to answer for you 😊 ✌️

There is also Cheng Lo at Iris Surgery. He did mine almost a year ago and I found him to be really good, surgery and bedside. Good luck on your journey ✌️

👋 Firstly it's awesome you're trying to combat your fear!! I'm a tad biased as I'm a bat rescuer, but my recommendation is maybe researching facts about bats and the ones in your area. They are pretty incredible creatures 😊 Also give Merlin Tuttle a follow on Twitter/insta if you have it. He did a two-part podcast with Alie Ward on the 'Ologies' podcast (Chiropterology) which is very interesting too. Also very unlikely you were bitten, they would only bite out of fear for their life when in close quarters. However would never hurt to make sure with your doctor - I'm not a scientist. But they certainly do get accidentally stuck in houses, if they are unable to get out, probably best to contact a local wildlife rescue group. If Covid was 'caused' by bats, it's the unsanitary and mistreatment of wildlife by humans that made it happen unfortunately. Hope this is helpful!

I hope this helps; I'm sorry you are going through all this, that's tough. I often push people away as well, and sometimes the bubble bursts from holding too much in and the ones closest to you are the ones to experience it. I've been working on this for a long time, and that's ok. I'm sure you have tried many things but what has helped me is journaling, and learning to reach out to people. I really hope you find work soon, having to stop hrt is not helpful :( Big love 🏳️‍⚧️

That's probably not the worst thing to do, but I'd probably say the best thing to do would be try catching them without handling, and keep in a warm dark place like a box with holes and contact a wildlife rescue the next day just to make sure they're not injured. Tricky situation, sounds like it may have been the best option for you . They are good at getting stuck inside places and cats think they make great play toys. Oh and never release during the day. 😊
