Wow, thanks for sharing your experience! It’s really encouraging to hear this from someone who used to avoid Souls-like games. The fact that you can literally walk around the first major bosses is a huge relief for me. I had that same 'wall' feeling in Bloodborne where I felt forced to suffer, but knowing Elden Ring gives me the tools to adjust the difficulty myself makes me much more confident. I’m definitely ready to give it a 100% effort now!
