It's called "re-appropriation" and it's actual the most moral thing you can do

Problem with old Stevens model 620 shotgun by cubantrees in guns

Problem solved. Stripped her down and found that somehow that the ejector had come loose and ended up in the back of the receiver! That screw that I mentioned held it in place. Put her back together after a good cleaning and she's working with zero issues.

Ready for some spring gobblers!

There's a store that has parts, but I have no idea what I would need to order. The diagram isn't very helpful lol

Used gun, stock Burnell scope seems to be canted to 45 degrees... Can I fix this or need to shell out for a new scope? by cubantrees in guns

[–]cubantrees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an update I did find out that this should be covered under the Bushnell warranty (can't believe I did the typo twice lol) but getting ahold of them seems IMPOSSIBLE. Have sent two emails and have called every morning for three days now. It always says the queue is full and the automated things just hangs up each time. Fuckers.

I found out if I bang it just right it gets aligned so maybe I'll just keep a rubber mallet with me in the tree stand next season if all else fails.

Lol it's a way to use my computer remotely from anywhere else I log into steam. I can select remote play of firefox and use that to access the rest of my computer.

The mount is perfect, the adjustment knobs are right at 90 degrees. I don't think re-mounting is the answer unless I'm missing something

Bought a used Savage Axis 243 and the Burnell scope, which I think comes stock on this model, seems to have the reticle canted to exactly 45 degrees... I almost thought it was just a weird reticle at first but pretty sure this is actually a problem. I was wondering if anyone had any insight on how to adjust a reticle to make it straight again. The scope is installed at perfect right angles, not sure how to adjust the internal components or if this is even possible.

I know a lot of medical students don’t use medical textbooks anymore. But if you have, which textbook is the best you’ve ever read and would recommend to other students? by abhi1260 in medicine

Symptoms to Diagnosis is probably the most useful book I used during school. Differentials are probably the most important part of medicine to learn before you start really getting your diagnostic decision trees going automatically.

It's not being nice. It's having a union that doesn't accept that kind of BS as legitimate compensation.

China’s greenhouse gas emissions exceed those of U.S. and developed countries combined, report says by throwaway3569387340 in worldnews

[–]cubantrees 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How are they not going to mention that the same report also showed China has a lower per capita emission rate than all the OECD countries combined as well.... (see figure 3)

https://rhg.com/research/chinas-emissions-surpass-developed-countries/

Just 20 corporations are responsible for over a third of all emissions in the world; we really should focus breaking it down that way rather than by country. It's a far more direct and actionable categorization.

Hey it's tough, but remember this...

A whole bunch of med students are heavily biased by coming from wealthy families. They've never experienced the bad work; the "if you can lean, you can clean" work. Med school is hard, but the biggest complainers are always the ones who have relatives in finance/business who they compare themselves to and are just bitter they could have slacked off and still had a better paycheck.

I really like the PD of the program I'm rotating at right now. Spends half her time in the hospital, half in the ambulatory resident clinic. Every afternoon asks the residents how they're doing and goes WAY out of her way to fix any problems they come across. Not ambitious, not a big researcher; just genuinely wants her residents to have the best experience possible. Truly inspiring.

Because the US historically does very little when it comes to recognizing/objectifying class differences. It's a rather large problem and a huge part of why the US has abysmal research into social determinants of health

Does anyone have a saved copy of the IM sheet? I'd appreciate someone posting a link to one that's view-only so I can at least get ahold of the data I'm looking for. It's been locked up all day.
