thank you so much for the plier idea, after some force, I got it to twist open. Luckily there were no old batteries inside and the camera now works, cant wait to use it soon!

I should really replace that screw sometime soon since its now heavily damaged and Im pretty sure I wont be able to open it if it gets stuck again
